Popular Post East Langton Fox Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 As he is one of us, I’m interested to know what people think about him being told he can’t present MOTD until he rows the BBC line. Personally I think it’s a a mistake. Alan Sugar has had plenty to say as a Labour supporter. Andrew Neill, esteemed political presenter on the BBC is editor of the spectator which is not politically neutral. Double standards. Poor decision from the BBC 36 1

Popular Post davieG Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 Anything that shuts him up to me he's just become a know it all smug boring irritant. He's certainly not worth the £1.5m salary. No longer watch MOD. anyway 41 2 4

South Shire Fox Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 Him and Shearer make MOTD imo, not watched alot this season for obvious reasons but will be a big miss. Massive drop in quality to Mark Chapman and Jenas 1
Popular Post Harry the Cat Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 I wonder if he’d spoken out in favour of government policy nothing would have been said. 16 1
Popular Post Unabomber Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 He’s a great presenter regardless of his affinity with Leicester. 36
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 Crazy that's the cost of being a moral person, but that's Britain these days. Probably still watch. I like seeing the highlights, and it's not like I have a BARB box, 4
foxinsocks Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 The beeb dont seem to have clear rules for non current affairs staff or for freelancers. They pay him alot yet presumably forgot to put anythig in his contract. Now the daiky mail and telegraph is on the bbcs case.... In this case... while many dont agree with the govs new scheme... garys suggesting that it reminded him of 1930 germany seem a bit extreme. I guess the beeb want to try and hammer out a face saving commitment. Yet Ian wright has said he will not apoear while gary is suspended... so who will scab? Shearer?

Sharpe's Fox Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 I don't watch it but if I did I wouldn't watch it because he was presenting it. To be honest I'd be more likely to tune in if it was just rolling highlights without the dad jokes and so-called "analysis". Bin the lot of them. 3

Popular Post Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 Shearer and Wright have told the BBC they also won't be appearing on the show. Like them or not, that's really sending a message. 13

He's quite obviously the exact opposite of that. He's a total credit to Leicester, up there with David Attenborough 29 2 3
Sharpe's Fox Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 (edited) By the way no one cared about Gary's commitment to BBC impartiality when he literally tweeted "Bin Corbyn" in 2017. It's as if when there was a politician who actually cared about refugees he was fair game because he threatened Gary's big houses and tax dodging. Man's a virtue signalling clown. Popular Post Finnegan Posted 10 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 March 2023 (edited) I find it pretty outrageous. At the risk of stepping too far in to politics, it shouldn't be controversial to call Suella Braverman a fascist. The BBC doesn't conform to total impartiality, its a myth. It subscribes to due impartiality, if something is just a fact then they don't have to pretend there's two sides to the story. They didn't, for example, have to pretend that COVID wasn't real or that the vaccine was a lie because that's just nonsense. Braverman IS a fascist. That's not an insult or a slur, it's an actual description of where her politics sit on the political spectrum. If that is shocking to people, it should be. She's a really scary example of how quickly the right of the Tory party has jerked to the FAR right. No moderate Conservative likes her or her positions, they are genuinely hateful. You might think Lineker is a preachy lefty and you might not like his politics, whatever that's fine. But this is one instance in which he's done nothing wrong. Oh and let's not forget this is against the backdrop of the Chair of the BBC being in bed with Boris Johnson and the political editor of the BBC being also quite an entrenched, right wing voice. Super impartial. Edited 10 March 2023 by Finnegan 54 12 2
RowlattsFox Posted 10 March 2023 Posted 10 March 2023 You'd have to be desperate to go on MOTD tomorrow now. Not worth the backlash.
