Chelsea post match 1-3

Start the match terribly and concede a goal. Have about 10 minutes where we look the better side before conceding again and falling into a bottomless pit of shite. It's getting so tiresome.

Im off out to watch an evening of boxing ‘down town’. Probably a good thing before the FT playground gang spark up.

I’d say one thing first though. Get yersens a decent stream and watch the games before you post in the match thread.

Anyone suggesting that Souttar had had ‘a solid game’ today clearly hadn’t done that. Chelsea scored three, VAR chalked another two off and this was a side who, before today, had scored sod-all in 6/7 league games.

We WUZ wide open at the back. The only thing I’d add is that Big Dan was worse and Faes was worse still.

If Rodgers doesn’t sort out the defensive side of our game, we will be relegated. Of that I have no doubt.

Anyway, at fear of saying ‘I told you so’, over and out and have a decent evening.

Rodgers has zero idea how to sort out the defensive side of our game.

Watching Soumaré come on for Mendy and make us so much weaker as he jogged back, watched opponents go by and passed it to nowhere was really really depressing.

So many thoughts - you'll have to humor me on this as I need to vent

 

- We get at least a point out of that game with Kaspar in goal, and I'd venture to say all 3.  It's not just - he would have saved that one goal so it's 2-1 instead of 3-1. Football is not linear.  A game staying 1-1 instead of going down 2-1 is worth more than just that goal off the board. It's momentum and all the intangibles and tangibles about how the game flows etc.  Ward is just - I mean.  Don't really know what to say.  That first goal going in - it's so killer to the whole psychology of it. You're at home in a big game against a rich 6 side - you're in the game, doing well, and you let that goal in.  It's SO deflating to the team, energy, crowd, etc to concede first in that fashion.  It's worth more than just the goal on the scoreboard

 

- Unpopular opinion maybe - but Rodgers Out aside, we created the chances necessary to get results from our last couple games, and have been incredibly wasteful.  Amartey + KDH today.  Then you add in the unlucky (KDH post, Souttar chance) and the awful reffing - which is not for nothing a pretty consistent theme this year with the lack of handball.  Ricardo maybe could have been sent off, so could their guy on Maddison.  How was that not a foul? Every game I go into knowing we'll get the short end of the stick - it's really not overboard to say that those constant and little biases that permeate through the game are worth 1-1.5 goals per game.

 

- We can't score, can't defend, can't goalkeep - we're going down. We could sack Rodgers in 5 minutes, I still think it's too late and we're going down. ALL the other teams with us have more fight than us. Everton will get a result against Chelsea next weekend for instance.  Which leads me to

 

- I hope everybody is at least using this as an opportunity to make some $. I can't be the only one putting a 9 way box on all the results to go against us. I'm 3 of 5 so far on wins and 4 of 5 on win or draw.  Already making some money and if a couple more results don't go our way I'll be rolling in coin (I'm betting .09 per iteration btw - no high roller - still could win hundreds or thousands this week).

 

Like Leicester City Football club, I have run out of steam half way through this post. I'll mercifully end this here. If it's the hope that kills you, let's all thank Rodgers for sparing us.

That sub summed up why Rogers needs to go. Not necessary and even worse made our team worse. Mendy was probably our best player and it's not the first time this has happened.

Going down. We have fallen so quickly and the lack of any genuine quality Maddison aside is the most alarming thing.

 

No fight, no defence, the worst keeper in the Prem by a distance. We are in deep shite. Only Leicester can play five at the back and play such a high line.

And he really doesn't like Mendy. Drags him every game however well he plays.

 

We were on top. Maybe one change to tweak it/turn the screw slightly would make sense. Three just smacked of him have decided 10 minutes earlier and refusing to take into account what was happening on the pitch.

He was being booed because he was a cvnt when he left. Cupping his ears makes him more of a cvnt.

Basically we have had two brief spells in the season where we have accumulated most of our points, take those away and you have a clear picture of how our whole season has been played like a bottom of the table side. Looking back to our first season back even when we were bottom of the table we played a lot better than the current side and were only narrowly losing.

 

The current side seems so sloppy Rodgers should be sorting out these error it's like he isn't bothered or deluded that this is how you win games in the premier.

 

His time is long over, there are no more excuses, we need change at the club, even if he stays and we stay up, next season we will be having exactly the same discussion here.

I deliberately missed watching the game today and I think I'll skip the remainder of the season, just hoping it'll be a better watch in the Championship next season. I don't mind the losing if there was any get up an go about the team but its been pure boredom with a predictable outcome.
