Saw his green Bentley pull up outside the KP entrance last season. (Nearer to the river than the stadium doors)

His driver got out, went to the back of the car, opened his door, leaned in and started to button up Martins' shirt, put his tie around his neck and proceeded to tie it. He then helped him out of the car, tucked his shirt into his trousers, helped him into his blazer, took him by his arm for about 5 steps then let him walk on his own to the entrance.

My first thoughts were, Jeez the bloke can't even dress himself anymore, let alone be part of running a football club.

Anyone know how he made his money? Is it solely out of LCFC/football or was he in businesses outside of the game?

Fair play for going to games if he needs that level of assistance - clearly loves the club.

Top can't be arsed, though in fairness he prob also needs help, bet Rudders helps him get his Peppa pig pants over his pull ups

Can see Ian Stringer leading the tributes now and the Ginettas lauding him as our best ever DOF.

And Lynn Wyeth of the Foxes Trust reminding everyone that he saw us through the good times as well. They're all at it.

Thought not.

Is that the best you can do?

The frustration is that 99% of fans on a 318-page thread completely agree Rudkin has done a terrible job, yet the very first media piece from the Foxes Trust mouthpiece completely bottles holding him accountable. Instead of taking an absolute sitter to stick the boot in after his interview, they published quotes in the national media that he "was here during the good times."

This is the problem: when it comes to the crunch, people go soft.

You don't need to know someone personally to see how weak that comment is. Rudkin has controlled the club's transfers for a decade, overseen a total collapse, and dragged us down to our lowest ever ebb. We don't need fan reps wittering about the good times, we need them to be absolutely rancid about the catastrophic job he's done. The rest of the members should be spitting feathers about those comments but instead lets sit back with a warm cup of tea.

It's in black and white near the bottom of that article.

"But do we know what he does all day, do we know if it's all his fault? That's a good question.

It continually amazes me that people think this is a reason for defending him lol and not for immediately removing him.

If he's not doing what we've been told his role is, he should be sacked because he's paid a fortune and not doing his job.

If he is doing what we've been told his role is, he should be sacked because his performance has been generationally bad to the enormous cost of the whole organisation.

No No No the whole organisation could fall apart if Rudkin is poached by another club.

Lynn has literally approved every piece of Foxes Trust communications which calls for Rudkin to be sacked.

The article completely lacks the nuance of the questioning by the journalists. A passing comment on what’s occurred before

In fact her comments actually go further that is to suggest Aiyawatt is removed

Without commenting on this Lynn Wyeth's personal views (as I can confirm I have no idea who she is or what she thinks), I do agree with @Tommy G's take that her comment about Rudkin "seeing us through the good times as well" is completely wrong and misguided.

We absolutely have to move away from the false narrative that Rudkin had anything to do with our success.

On the contrary. When he was given the reins, that's exactly when things started to go wrong. I've already posted about this somewhere earlier, I think. but Rudkin is a classic example of a person with a certain skillset and experience doing well in a job – then being promoted to a role which is waaaaay out of his reach, capabilities and abilities.

As Academy Manager (from 2003 onwards) he did a very good job. He had been with us since the late 1990s and knew the region's youth set-ups and was the "perfect" guy for the job to take the academy to the next level. And he did. Let's not forget that under his stewardship, the academy achieved Category One status and began producing some decent players (Kingy, Schlupp etc.). As academy manager, he basically ran the place and was responsible for the overall academy operation, including staffing, philosophy and long-term strategy, rather than just coaching one age group. This is well documented. He was doing a job that he had developed into and become good at – youth football.

The massive mistake we, as a club – and the KP family – made was to believe that he could translate those skills and the professional performance to elite level. The skills required to run a successful academy are completely different to those required to run an elite Premier League football department.

He was made director of football in December 2014. Another well-documented fact is that all the systems, staff, players, recruitment systems and other platforms that delivered our success in 2015-16 and 2021 were already in place. He deserves very little credit for the title win and marginal credit for the FA Cup win.

Instead, his success is measured by when, a few years into his tenure, those systems that had delivered the success needed tweaking and new staff needed to be brought in. When he was supposed to build on that platform and continue that success – which, after all, was his job – he has failed unbelievably badly.

And we are now reaping the "results" of him being in charge. Rudkin happened to be in the right place at the right time when we had our success. The equivalent of arriving and sitting down at a ready-made table – but because he happened to walk through the kitchen on his way to his chair, it looked like he had something to do with it producing the meal.

When he was asked to continue on that success and ensure it becomes standard, we see what has happened.

Like in any area of business, a person can excel in one area, without excelling at the other. Rudkin's success in the academy is hard to argue against. But his promotion to oversee all football operations at an elite level is one of the worst recruitment decisions made by any Premier League football club ever.

There are literally millions of examples of similarly bad hires in companies around the world – people do very well in one area, then get promoted to broaden their scope and then fail because it's a completely different job. The difference is, they don't stay in post after the realisation that they aren't up to the job. And that is on KP.

So can we please (looking at you, Lynn, whoever you are) stop saying that Rudkin delivered our success, please. He had very little, if anything, to do with it. It's simply a terrible take and factually inaccurate.

She doesn’t say that - all she comments on is that Rudkin was in role during our most successful period.

You could read her comments as to say well what the **** was he doing that period where we were success to be this poor now ?

The penny might drop eventually on a few that regardless of Rudkin being totally terrible that this football club has effectively been ran down by one person’s decisions making.

Aiyawatt decides everything or has to approve everything. Hence these long spells of paralysis. Hence why he appointed a Thai woman on the ground to be his eyes and ears. Hence why player power has existed above the manager’s call.

You’ll probably find that’s what is being pointed at. You’ll probably find Mashiter is also a close friend of Martin and bit of Rudkin bashing helps his mates out too. Anyone that’s been in one of these fan engagements meetings you’ll quickly work out the vibe of frustration amongst some club staff now

I can just about see where you're coming from. But I still don't buy that that's what that comment/quote means. Because if that was her point, surely she would've made it 100% clear? Again, I don't know her and perhaps the journalist paraphrased/misquoted her.

All I know is that Lynn wouldn't be the first one to try and argue that Rudkin deserves credit for our title success. He absolutely doesn't.

This I agree with 100%. Ultimately, it is Top's decision-making that has landed us in this mess.

We shouldn't, in 2026, still be angry about Rudkin and still be calling for him to go. He should've gone years ago. But allowing Rudkin to stay in post is not the only decision (or non-decision) that Top has got terribly wrong.

Defend all you want but my point still stands why on earth that comment was made re Rudkin, I get which side of the fence you're on.

Fundamentally it should of been scathing and to pin it on the journalist is also a weak argument, these are quoted comments.

A BBC article where there is an opportunity to scold him wasn't taken, that is a fact.
