That Bournemouth game.  A long time ago now, but that was the beginning of the rot.

Yeah this is the answer for me, the loss was triggered by his horrific half time changes, I think that was the first domino that fell and led to what has happened since

Also one of the worst reactions I have ever felt, had to go for a walk to calm down

Sometimes I just think there was a click, somewhere during  our European campaigns..league or Europe...

And Rodgers began to hate his job..

Or just lost that inborn mojo..

0-9 against Soton, 3-0 WBA,wins can also be the catalyst and jump onto that

slippery slope..

I don't believe in that 2-3 life cycle of club life...many other quiet managers &

Larger than life characters  have had their 5,even 10yr stints overtime...

But if a now a more experienced Potchettino could be tempted to come here & give us 5years,I am sure we can again reach humble-levels of at least competing  for those covetted positions...

First we must secure our PL place.

Whatever the outcome,we must use the academy more & trust in developing  from within..A system that allows them to get bench then first team game time.

The academy coaches must be put under pressure to produce, or go..

Any Manager needs that freshface motivation during transfer closure...Baybrooke next off the ramp..

The poch ship has sailed

the fella is apparently in pole position to be the next real madrid boss …….. I’ve been to madrid and whilst gallowtree gate and the clock tower runs it close, I think he’ll go for spain ….

EDIT :  why has this post appeared in this thread !

Look the whole of Europe blows most of our old industrial cities away..

Leicester is/are my roots, but thanks to unimaginative council's over 70 years,

a dump is a dump,is a dump despite odd good restaurants & Bars..& Space centre.

FFS even King Dick is struggling...

if not gone. Oh how we could need his kindred spirit coercing with Rachel.Riley right now..!.

Col..yes it was horrible, against our midlands rivaenemy's...but a single cup rout hurts, but doesn't/shouldn't upset the league weekly routine...

So many long periods of quite contemptable dire league offerings in this one season alone...

again not the losses themselves but how we presented ourselves at home & away grounds on performance & attitude....A proud fighting club reduced

to...well !  fill in the gaps..

And it vibrated down to all our Academies...

>Women a separate issue..<

A lot say Bournemouth but the horror performances actually began before that. Before COVID

The performance we turned out at Carrow Road losing 1-0 was an absolute shocker.

Plenty.

But Palace 2-1 has to be up there. 20-0 shot attempts first half is absolutely pathetic against an opponent who is also struggling, has a lower budget (no excuse there for Rodgers), has a worst squad in a game we must win but yet we showed no grit, no game plan, played with his worst lone striker formation with Ndidi being a total disaster.

There's been some complete rotters this season.

In fact most home games have been completely dour. First game of the season blowing a 2-0 lead comes to mind.

So many to choose from but the one that really annoyed me was the 4-2 defeat against Newcastle at home. Newcastle were useless and horrible to watch under Bruce. But our lot buckled AGAIN.

Bournemouth 2020, absolutley disgusting. A complete and utter capitulation. Closely followed by Forest in the FA Cup, should of been sacked then. Legia Warsaw away was bad aswell

So many games were terrible, the Man Utd game at home early on this season, we could have played until midnight and wouldn't have scored. Forest away 4-1 was abysmal, along with the 2-0 this season. 5-2 Brighton followed by 6-2 at Spurs, it felt like we could have conceded double figures in both. First half at Palace again, dreadful but for a complete and utter sh1tshow, first 60 mins v Blackburn takes some beating.

The league cup semi final defeat to Villa was pretty bad as well. Probably not the worst but had it not been for the FA Cup win, this would still sting badly

I see why you mentioned that game , first time I recall the team showing a weak mentality, and they gradually crept up in number each season thereafter.

A lot to choose from but Newcastle at home this season was bad. Down and out of it after about 2 minutes.
