We've demonstrated recently we are incapable of helping ourselves out of our situation, indeed even when we are given gifts we turn them away (Maddison penalty).

Can only see wins if we put in 8 or 9/10's accross the board and our opponents make mistakes and put in 4 or 5's accross the board, and even then I wouldn't be confident we'd take advantage.

Ah, so it's SS that have the GD wrong then. Sounds about right.

I think the OP is mad to still have hope.

HOWEVER, All of us who think that, how great would it be if he comes on here tomorrow night and tells us he was right!

I'd ask him for Tuesdays lottery numbers

Everything hinges on Leeds not winning today.

Then, if that turns out well for us, 2 wins and we stay up. That simple. Regardless of what Leeds and Everton do. I don't think we'll do that, mind. But the opportunity is there. And if I was manager, I'd be encouraging the players to embrace it

Nothing else to lose. But the players have already given up. See the body language after the third goal against Liverpool.

I agree. Tho I good manager would frame the Geordie game into segments, say first 5, next 15, next 10, last 15. And have a default fall back of what to do if we go a goal down.

The players should have every decision removed from.them. No looking around and arguing and shrugging. There's a playbook for each early scenario.

No we would need to win both, but can't see us getting anything from the Newcastle game.

These bottlers will probably beat West Ham 5-0 once we're relegated and the pressure is off.

In preparation, this evening I shall be singing an adaptation of Gene Pitney's song: "24 hours from Saftey" (Saftey is that village next along from Rothley, isn't it?)

I will be back after the Leeds game.

Scenario 1 - "Hoping they lose and we win"

Leeds lose or draw.

Everton lose.

We beat Newcastle or West Ham.

Scenario 2 - "Hoping for a dramatic change in form"

Leeds win and/or Everton draw.

We draw at Newcastle and beat West Ham.

Scenario 3 - "Hoping for a miracle"

Leeds and Everton win

We beat Newcastle and West Ham

Then sweet, sweet Saftey.

Time for some magical thinking about purposely ignoring form and sense!

Really, how many times have you been wrong this season, either about results or players 😂

Unless Everton win by 10 goals

Ffs, we’ve got 2 games for the players to play like they’ve never done before. It’s in their hands and if a manager can’t get em up for those last 2 games, knowing what depends on it, he shouldn’t be in football.

I'd argue they already have been and that's what got us into this mess.

They've actually been playing like they've never even heard of the sport and never even met each other before.

The reality is almost certainly two more half arsed bottle jobs I’m afraid. Too many invested in themselves without being invested in the interests of the club that has made them secure for life

Scenario 1 is most probable because of three reasons -

A) Are we confident that Leeds can beat Spurs? Big fat NO from me. Harry Kane to score at least 2 goals in Spurs last game.

B) Are we confident that Bournemouth can finish off Everton? This is the most iffy fixture. I would say Bournemouth have definitely got it in them to beat Everton after losing 3 in a row to strong sides. Prior to that, they were winning all the games comfortably..

C) If Leicester lose tomorrow, can they beat West Ham on the last game of the season? I would say they can if all the players show up for one last hurrah, they can and will.

So without using the SuperComputer, I would say we are 100% certain to go to the last game of the season with a 50% chance of surviving all of this. But we must beat West Ham and for other results to go our way. I think the other results (using probability above) will go our way. So we must win on the last game of the season.

Newcastle tomorrow needs to be a training session for West Ham on the final game of the season. Moyes will be resting players hopefully for his Europe Cup final. I predict Moyes will rest his top players.

One thing you're all forgetting is the unfairness factor. City will beat West Ham and Everton will scrape a draw against Bournemouth in the last 5 mins. (probably scored by Demarai Gray). This is the most likely scenario because then Evertons whole FFP thing will come back to haunt us.
