Yeah, it's not surprised me. I just hoped that the links Maresca and the analyst he's brought in who's been at Barca and Atletico B teams / youth teams might give us more of a focus on such talents.

That U21 keeper for example who is considering quitting and is available on a free.

Arnau Tenas? Would be an amazing signing.

Excellent one-on-one stopper, can overplay sometimes but would imagine that's encouraged by the youth coaches at Barca.

Absolutely. He's quality. Yet some posters earlier were saying he needs to drop down to lower championship/ league one level to hone their game.

Would be a great acquisition for any top championship team or mid table and lower prem team

all depends on where City and the player think he'll evolve quicker so to speak, lower premiership could be ideal but always runs the risk of being in and out of the team, while a season in the championship could toughen him up and play alot more game time

have to admit, id love it if we could get him on loan for the season

He looks ridiculously good for a free agent valued at only 2m by Transfermarkt… seems too good to be true 😂 what’s the catch?

The catch is that he's only going to be a free agent if he opts to reject Barcelona's new contract they've offered him.

He's mulling it over whilst the U21 Euros is on and will then decide. He wants 1st team football and Barca have mucked many a youngster about in recent years.

If Doyle proves too expensive then I'd look at Bashir Humphreys from Chelsea. Contract up in the summer. Unlikely to get a sniff with Colwill ahead of him.

I have always like Callum O'Hare at Coventry, not sure if he's injured at the moment though.

He's been injured for pretty much a year.

Amad Diallo wanted by Saints on loan. Would take him here.

Pretty sure it has been said that if he goes out on loan in the Championship again he only wants to go to Sunderland

thats what i read too

Josh Bowler and Lewis O'Brien from forest would be decent additions imo

If we don't go for him, I can only presume we aren't interested in playing any form of wingers. Will be wing backs and central attacking midfielders. Which limites flexibility in changing systems too.

Wouldn’t be too concerned by this...yet.

Really depends what kind of profile of attacking midfielders we end up going for, if we end up going for Ilias Chair or Oscar Bobb for instance, then flexibility won’t be a problem.

Anyone think Alves could step up and do a job in the Barnes/Maddison positions? With the caveat that he makes a full recovery of course. If we’d have stayed up there’s a chance he might have been loaned out to a Championship club anyway, though  Rodgers was even ready to give him a run in the first team before the injury.
If he was a Man City academy player people would be saying he’d be an exciting prospect we should buy!
