We’ve done plenty of bad business in the past. But West Ham making a £60m bid for Maguire and McTominay is absolutely honking

Seriously think West Ham will be in trouble in the next couple of seasons. Their only CF is the well past it Antonio, they've lost Rice and they're going to be knackered on FFP through signing lots of older "PL proven" dross on big money.

It's rumoured that Moyes and the recruitment team want different targets. Would be interesting to know who got their way with the bid for these two. They might work out to be decent signings though, after getting away from what has been a graveyard for progression as a footballer. Even Varane and Casemiro have been average at best there, Ronaldo couldn't impact the side as he should, Sancho/Antony haven't impressed, Pogba went from the most talented midfielder in Europe to the most forgettable.

This season will be interesting. Personally I don't rate Ten Haag at all, and think he will continue to get an easy ride because of the supporters views of the owners. Compare that to Arteta, who was also brought in by an ownership hated by the fans, and he's had a far bigger impact much more quickly.

To sign Casemiro, as a supposedly 'Progressive coach' gave me red flags about Ten Haag straight away. Then to pretty much only sign players you've worked with before/from the same nation (Martinez, Malacia, Weghorst, Onana, Eriksen, Antony), that's not a good sign to me at all. With the money they've spent they should be at the level Arsenal were last season, but they won't be, they will be in a challenge for the top 4 again.

Ten Haag at Ajax gives me Rodgers at Celtic vibes. It's hard not to succeed, and doesn't tell us anything about how strong of a coach you're.

Good signing, would’ve liked him here.

Yes good signing, feel like we need to get some of our positions sorted as Leeds and Southampton are starting to become a little more active

at this rate West Ham will be so desperate to sign anyone that they end up bidding £10m for Vestergaard on deadline day

Joe Rodon to Leeds on loan, Max Aarons on a permanent supposedly close.

Both good signings, they look weak at the back, worryingly this will strengthen them, we still need some pace at the back.

im surprised someone has only just gone in for Aron’s.

Rodon is solid, but Aarons would be a real coup for them if they get him.  They're far from done, though - an already thin squad decimated by injuries. They need to land a MF like Hamer or Kamara and a striker too -  if not Piroe, someone competent and reliable.

The fact Aaron’s is signing for Leeds and that Norwich are willing to let him leave for a division rival tells you everything you need to know

Agree. This is the same Max Aaron’s who’s been hyped for years… joining Bayern etc.. moving from one middling championship club to another…

He's on the last year of his deal, and unlike us some clubs like to recoup something from a player they're going to lose anyway.  Leeds is desperate and they're a richer club than Norwich.

Yeah I get that bit. But he’s been hyped for years, linked with everyman and his dog but ending up at Leeds in the Championship. Something doesn’t add up. Don’t get me wrong decent signing but surprised no prem clubs sniffing around at that price!

Hamer to sheff Utd. Weakens a rival and we were never really in for him.

They are losing Berge to Burnley so it makes sense.

West ham agreed a fee for JWP

£30m is a decent price. The £40m plus add ons that we got for Barnes and Maddison doesn't seen so bad now.

So much for those posters who said West Ham were in a similar position to us the previous summer - they're about to spend almost 100m on 3 players!

If any team is going to be compared, Wolves is a better comparison given their FFP issues.

I’ve watched Berge a lot in the United team, Hamer I’ve not seen as much but from what I have seen I feel like he’s an upgrade.
