Possibly not, but Peacock-Farrell will be.  Fill yer boots.  ;)

What's Muric like as a modern goalkeeper? Good distribution? Good shot stopper? Strong at coming for crosses / isn't scared of coming off his line?

Given the FFP troubles they're in, how much money they've seen Chelsea make from academy players and the sting of losing the likes of Sancho for free it can hardly be surprising.

Anyone thinking we were going to raid Man City for 500k a pop like Pearson and Walsh did to United for our last Championship title push was probably being drastically naive.

Sancho didn't leave for free, he turned down a new deal but wasn't out of contract.

To be honest we can't really pay that for a young goalkeeper. Shame but we aren't going to match or better that.

Extremely good distribution, which is as well because in some games he didn't have anything else to do.  Preston were so defensive at Turf Moor that Muric's average position was outside the penalty area.

Both shot stopping and crosses improved a lot over the course of the season.  I'd like (I don't know if it's possible) to see the above stats split into first half and second half of the season, because from the spectator eye test, he improved a lot.

I'd take Muric over Steffan. Both have mistakes in them but Muric is probably a safer bet with a better age profile.

I'd argue, likely a cheaper price too

If Muric is that good though, why would he be replaced?

Burnley seem to be trying for a starting 11 solely of goalkeepers and he’s not on board?

Being calm under a high press and confident allowing pressure onto you is a lot more mental which takes years to be taught than technical ability which also takes a long time, you don’t just become comfortable all of a sudden.

I do agree that he’s a very good shot stopper and that’s the most important trait in a goalkeeper, however, Maresca’s perceived style does not work without a sweeper keeper, it’s absolutely vital and Iversen appears to panic too much on the ball for it to work.

Whilst it appears Enzo knows he has time to get the style right, he doesn’t have time to carry any passengers. A key reason why he elaborated multiple times throughout his press conference today about “the right squad”. I personally think Iversen will go out on loan this year, with Ward sadly being the No.2.

If I was Iversen I would now be demanding game time..

He was the last reason we we got relegated…Many on here including myself would say if Rodgers had introduced him earlier,we wouldn’t of stormed the league, but would not of got relegated…

Iversen did his job, with what dozos were in front of him..

Muric is very good on the deck, particularly for a big man.  Pulled off some superb saves as well, in fact probably a good dozen or so certain goals, so he can do the dramatic stuff.  His distribution skills often made Burnley look like they had 11 outfield players and this definitely helped the dynamics of Burnley's high possession based style.

Its because he plays almost as high as the back 4, very high up the field he got himself into a couple if silly mix ups which conceded goals.  Also because he's so good and confident on the deck (which he is), on the odd occasion it led to trying things just too risky and again a couple of howler goals were conceded.  A touch injury prone as well, but nowhere near a Darren Anderton....

Apart from that, the negative stuff, he's a very good Championship keeper for the expected style of play Enzo will bring.........be it with a bit of risk.

Are we actually in for Muric or are we just assuming he will be available due to Trafford going there?

Massive assumptions being made

Love that long pass. Why’s Burnley not using him? Is he shite?

He has improved an awful lot since the start of last season and we have now got used to him wandering round with the ball.  He is very calm when he has the ball, so calm we nearly have heart attacks.  Like with the nutmeg at the end of the video. He is a very good shot stopper as well.  His weakness, surprisingly for his size, is high balls.  He doesn't claim them very well when he is being bullied, which Sheff Utd did to him in the second half at their place.  He is improving though and I think he will be a top goalkeeper.  Maybe Kompany thinks he won't be good enough for the Premier League.  I think he has done enough to earn the start but it looks like Kompany doesn't.

This guy has joined Burnley.  Unless I am missing something why is it still open.  Only came in thinking it may have fallen through :dunno:

Couldn’t agree anymore and I think Iversen will fall victim to system and style rather than goalkeeping ability.

Is it a number 1 Goalkeeper we're after or a Backup to Iversen. ?

I assume Ward will be off elsewhere also.

There is absolutely no way anyone is taking on Ward.

We need to pay up his contract and wish him the best.
