Would be silly if England end up being the only NH team to make the semis which is looking quite likely right now.

Funny though lol

Make sure you put some extra salt on your chips with your dinner tonight.

As I’m sure most of you know, not the biggest rugby fan at all. But have enjoyed the quarter final stages, all close games with it going to the whistle, (bar the Welsh) fully expecting South Africa to beat England next week as I imagine most are. Either way, the final will be a great spectacle as these big events should be.

It's about taking in, soaking up the sports day, atmosphere, ambiance of the day.. Even make day or long time aquaintances/friends. Memories make the day.. the day/wknd make the memories..Yes  missing a nice few glasses of wine or a few demis beer, makes my envy even stronger.. lol

Agree with this. Couple of strange minor decisions by the ref I thought but wasnt massively swung either way.

2 days on from us going out and I'm a bit more reflective.

Even though our performance was the worst of the 4, I still maintain their isn't much difference in quality between the top 4 in the world right now, but NZ and South Africa just know how to find a way when it really matters. The character, ability not to get overawed from the occasion and tactical nous is just different level and something we just need to get better at, this experience might help.

One positive for where Ireland are that this that this wasnt a plucky defeat where we punched above our weight to fail. Although some of our key players are retiring, our youth teams have a pretty decent set up at the minute so I'm still feeling good about the future while not being naive about other teams that are bound to improve too.

And for the love of god in 2027, no more laps of honour after winning a group match.

In someways this Ireland team was like comparing with Englands football Golden-generation’s under 1970 Ramsey, Venables, then Erickson..so near yet so far.

I was really rooting for this years Ireland, right upto the last minute, but just maybe it Was a couple of months too late. Many of the players who reached hights & earned great accolades, seemed to have lost that fizz, where imaginative power plays & rallying moves, could turn any game…had gone.

Sexton and others, looked & were too tired to make that extra effort, which before seemed easy to turn on at will. None of those emaculate  imaginative drive forward moves were at hand, & though the will was there, the effort looked too much..The cupboard seemed bare ..

Small slips & unaccustomed unforced mistakes while  in possession, cropped up at wrong time,& too often. Again their unusual static movement of Sexton & other individuals or pairings looked also cumbersome ,though the spark & quality shone through occasionally..And  I  really believed their name was on the trophy..

Until, their legs seemed to go at the same time.

Everybody, including English fans believe,we will be thrown into dissaray and the England will be routed in a Spion kop slaughter..

But England love nothing more than proving their distracters, just as ill-wind inconveniencies and wrong.

Again like the phoenix we have risen above the flames, carrying feathers of previous

poor form, and little support from other supporters in any type of desired belief,we can hold up & deny the odds.

Time to prepare for denying the doubters & upset those odds,

and dig out our redemption for past lost SF & Final ground & a singed foxy Phoenix to take the day.

Completing a successfull & satisfying Weekend grabbing also the Spoils from the Welsh Swans..& Northern Sharks…:englandsmile4wf:……:bounce:

Not at all…. I think it’s the fans where I’d struggle. (well the diehards, that I wouldn’t be able to connect with) I’ve always vaguely mentioned that I enjoy the 6 nations and will support England when they play but that’s about it. Defo a bandwagon jumper in this instance.

Just avoid the ones in cowboy hats that pull up in their Range Rovers with personalised liscence plates and you'll be fine.

Who's going to win the Saffers vs All Blacks final?

Can't see past South Africa

Both sides who know how to win when it really matters. It'll be close.

Flip a coin. Whoever turns up on the day.

Recent history between them is exceptionally close. You could make well researched, clever, tactical points about the strengths, weaknesses and form of either team and make an argument for them winning.

The fact is they're two of the best teams of the last two world cup cycles (if not more) and it's a winner takes all cup game. Whoever turns up more switched on and up for it will probably win and if they both are it'll probably end up decided by a bit of luck or an official's interpretation of the rules.

We need to have steward back for s Africa

they got two of their tries from high kicks

might keep the score diff down to less than twenty

Steward picked

chessum replaced by Martin

genge replaced by marler

looks to me like we’ll try to keep it as tight as possible and then hope our replacements can make a difference - s Africa made a few forward changes after 50 mins - suspect we will do similar and try to recover any deficit in the final half hour

If the 2 big hitters play like they did last week it would be NZ by 40+ points v Argentina and SA by 25+ v England but I reckon it will be more like NZ by 20 and SA by 15.
