We really should be scouring the world for his replacement at this point, because at best we have 18 months of him, realistically it's probably 6 though.

I agree, and given our potential PSR issues, it’s likely we might sell on January if the right price comes in.

Selling him in jan would relegate us there’s not a chance in hell that’s happening

Not a chance?  One word -  ‘ Dufkinomics’

The scoreline against Arsenal will never truly justify how insane Mads' performance was, unless you actually watched the game. So gutted that they managed to score those two late goals, it was one of the best GK performances I've ever watched.

We’ve been blessed with a lot of great keepers over the years but he has to be bang up there with the best of them, hard to say he’s the best keeper in the league but I honestly wouldn’t swap him for any other goalkeeper in the world.

Pickford?

I reckon he's definitely behind Allison, Edersen, and Martinez. There's then a group of Onana, Vicario, Raya, which he is in but probably behind Onana and Raya at current levels.

All of those keepers are much more experienced than him though, which is I think the most impressive thing. If he can command his box better he's a complete keeper and will go right to the top.

Tbh I think Ederson has always been a bit hyped. He’s never been as good a shot stopper as the very best and the new top keepers are all adept with their feet. He’s also declined a bit. I’d take Onana and Raya over him any day.

I think Mads is quickly climbing up the ladder to reach the highest level.

I think Hermansen is better already than the two you’ve listed at the bottom.

Absolutely. I think even if we rebuffed offers, he would still be the same.

Kasper must be his idol, even though they play together (train in the squad). I don’t think he’d dare downtools with the influence Kasper has in the national side.

Kasper is a pro, he does his work… but he loves City.

If we were to lose Mads, I’d take Kasper back for the dogfight. Proper

Hermansen is brilliant but I do think people underestimate how good other goalkeepers actually are.

Like all last season when everyone was saying Onana is crap, when he obviously isn't.

We also don't treat goalkeepers like outfield players where we say they have different attributes that make them good in different set-ups (everyone wants goalkeepers to be good at everything - a striker for example doesn't need to be a target man and a run-in-behind player).

Pickford is brilliantly suited to Everton but wouldn't be great for Man City, he's still the same quality of goalkeeper, though.

There's no chance anyone would pay upwards of £50m for Hermansen ever.

Only Alisson and Kepa have ever cost more than £50m. Onana was the best goalkeeper in the Champions League in 22/23 and was sold for £43.8m.

I'm not saying we won't ask for more but I'd be surprised if anyone went above £50m for him.

Liverpool spent around £30m for Mamardashvilli and he's seen as one of the next best goalkeepers in the world. Raya cost less than £30m, too.

Could easily see Chelsea throwing cash at us to get him, so it's definitely possible we get over 50 for him

If Chelsea are involved there's bound to be some inflating of prices so everyone can get one over on PSR, so they pay the £100mill for Mads and we overpay on some young lad that they're never going to miss.  Cole Palmer or some shit for £50mill! Tut!

If Enzo get Chelsea in the top 4 I can see him coming back for Mads.

Finishing top 4 will give Enzo more control at Chelsea, I think he would have brought he this summer but the Chelsea top brass probably felt uncomfortable sending 80m odd on two Leicester players

Onana is absolutely pony.
