Basically this. 

 

Massive problem with him and Vestergaard in the same team as they want to occupy the same position when you need Winks higher up feeding the ball to the forwards

I remember people saying the other day to let him off for jogging back against Portsmouth because that's not his game.

 

He showed in the last 20 minutes today that it's not that he cant do a defensive job, he just cant be bothered most of the time.

 

Playing like that last 20 minutes isnt sustainable i will admit. I will also take off my hat off and admit he was brilliant for those 20 minutes, so can we please see at least 50% of that graft on a regular basis.

And as a result pass to each other… I’d love to see the stats of who Winks passes to, 80% of his passes I’m convinced achieve absolutely nothing other than improve his stats

I have a bit of sympathy with him here because it is obvious that the tactics in the first half are just to play a very slow possession- based style not a high energy  style.

One of our better players. Far bigger issues then him atm. Look at Hulls first goal and Winks was the one sprinting to get back. That lazy cvnt Soumare was no where to be seen though

Nope, he's arguably the biggest the problem. He's that's much better/the only player capable of playing this role that he has to start. But it's so clear he doesn't give a crap. Makes so many pathetic tackles (look at the pen because whilst it was awful from Thomas, that was one of the laziest, clumsy, weak tackles you'll see), jogs around a lot and randomly decides when he can give a crap. 

 

Catastrophic failure to not go all out to try and replace him in the summer.

Winks and Soumare are a terrible pairing. Winks/James a much better pairing and not sure why that didn't happen today.

Symptomatic of how the club have failed everyone. The fact we've basically been forced to play him because all the other options are crap but his heart is not in, is criminal. Not getting a replacement in or getting him out of the club is negligent (Top and co's favourite word based on their actions)

To be fair a lot of the fans were adamant that it was vital to keep Winks this season and that we couldnt replace him. Although I guess you expect a bit more expertise from the professionals running the club than your average fan.

 

Winks has completely given up after putting a good shift in first half vs Hull, the most recent performances against Milwall and Blackburn today have been shocking. We need to move on from players like him that give up too easily.

Difficult for him to impact anything when your picking the ball up by your box with Soumare, Kristiansen and Carranza your outlets. Only James, Fatawu and Mavididi looked to drive us forward
