Love his application, and he's young so definitely not going to write him off.

...but I don't think he's good enough yet. Offers very little to the team overall.

If Cooper is insistent on playing this system, he should look for a new left back in Jan - Even if just a loan.

How many goals have we conceded from the left hand side so far this season?

It's Justins side they target.  Justin a player who frustrates the hell out of me.  Great going forward, scores great goals......defending though?  Worrying, Saturday a prime example.  Assisted our goal, kept drifting in to the centre of the pitch 2nd half leaving the winger totally unmarked, all 2nd half.

Christiansen does his job as a fullback well.  Defends well.  Yes, doesn't bomb forward, but always puts in a 6/10 performance.  He hasn't let us down this season.

Danish international too.  What, would you like him to offer?  Just interested.

I don't think he does anything particularly well to be honest.

He plays as a wingback yet offers absolutely nothing going forward - In fact, he often hinders us by occupying the same spaces as Mavididi.

I don't know what you mean by - 'He hasn't let us down this season' either - Yeah his application is good, but that should be a bare minimum really.

Exactly. Just another example of people stating things that are just objectively wrong and easy to disprove.

also do people not remember Justin playing on the left all last season and completely refusing to use his left foot making us lopsided? we have so much more balance to us with a left footer there and he is building a good understanding with Stephy.

I'd like him to be more aggressive with his passing but that was the same with a lot of the squad and even the same last season, its a modern football thing, players get hammered for their passing stats so get drilled into them about the percentages and end up turning down the attacking pass.

I think that has to be the current conclusion. He’s clearly a trier and wants to do well but he’s extremely limited and not to the standard currently. We really should have him out of loan in the championship.

Other defenders were really frustrated with him in the second half, particularly Faes & Ayew. He had to have a word first with Hermansen and then one of the coaches at the side. He went bright red again lol

I know Justin's a scapegoat, get Ricky back in and all that but JJ's been really quite good aswell. These guys are now up against tough tough opponents every week. Semenyo was a huge physical presence, explosive and skilful; then right afterwards we had to defend against a fresh legged Sinisterra.

Both things can be true.

He can be young and developing and promising and given time. But he can also be not quite good enough yet. Which I think is probably true. In which case any poor performances/blips from

him have to be on Cooper’s shoulders not VK’s. He needs to managed well and eased in, he definitely has potential.

interested to know would people prefer Doyle to VK?

He wouldn’t get played by Cooper in this ridiculous system he adopts.

I see people are hammering Justin for his displayed yesterday.

I’ve just watched the highlights package now.

I know JJ got skinned (it happens).

What on earth was Kristiansen doing for their 2nd goal?

Literally gave Aribo 2 years of space to choose his spot and didn’t pick him up in the area at all.

it is no coincidence that teams target our left hand side !

Would that have anything to do with the right hand side being the stronger in most teams.

I'm sure the 'years' is an autocorrect, but it really drives home the point!

Doyle was shite in the championship lol

Maybe a bit harsh.

Doyle was okay pre injury.

I feel for Kristiensen with that one, you can't blame him for not being close the the guy in the middle when there was another Saints player behind him, if he had gone on and closed the scorer down and the ball goes through to the player further out he would get bashed for not picking him up, he can't Mark 2 men, he did what he could with the situation he had. Never good to leave 2 on one at the back post.
