Exactly why 'be careful what you wish for' is such risible bollocks.

Nothing will make things worse than the current operation and it's just staggering that we've still got people queueing up to prostrate themselves at the feet of Toad and Smithers.

I don't think there'll ever be a time where those supporting KPFC will ever stop. Top and Co themselves could murder those fans in front of their families and they'd still back them.

I'll preface this by saying I absolutely want King Power to go and I don't think there are many people that could operate things worse than them.

However, we have definitely not hit rock bottom (in fact, we're a long way from it) and an asset stripper could come in and ensure we don't get out of this league again unless it's through relegation.

Any reasonable owner could come in and build on the good things that Aiyawatt/King Power brought to the club (training ground, increased global outreach and the academy) and turn us into a solid Premier League team again with relative ease.

But things absolutely could be a lot worse than the current operation and it's not unreasonable to say that.

That's what we have now lol

No, it's not! We've got a very good chance of going up this season. It's what King Power are banking on in order to get as much money as they can from the sale of the club. Potential buyers are sat around waiting for King Power to blink. More results like last weekend and I think you might see that asking price come down very quickly.

Based on what?!? Have you watched either of the competitive games we've played?

There is no evidence whatsoever that we've bottomed out under the current regime, they've shown no willingness or ability to course-correct or to radically reform. That's why 'it could get worse' is waffle - it's still getting worse now.

Based on the fact we've got one of the strongest sides in the division and a manager that has no real business managing a club this low down the pyramid.

Nothing is great, or even good at the moment. But suggesting things couldn't get worse with new owners is clearly bollocks.

No side has ever had their season defined by one league game. Especially when half the attack we've got is injured.

Didn't people say we had one the strongest teams for the last two relegations

Definitely not for the Premier League relegation but last season the bookies had us as more likely to go down than go up.

It's very difficult to argue that this current team isn't one of the strongest in the division, it's why the bookies have us as clear favourites to win the league.

The prices last season clearly had points deductions built in to them and weren't based entirely on perceived team quality. Even then I'm not sure our odds for relegation were that short, I certainly backed it at odds greater than the c11/1 we were to go up.

I'm not suggesting there wasn't a massive underperformance last season. I think without a points deduction the bookies would have probably had us finishing top half/play offs.

But we absolutely were not perceived to be one of the strongest teams in the division. Certainly not amongst Leicester fans.

Bookies can be wrong.

Skipp, BDCR, Thomas, Okoli were regulars last season and struggled against a team who were recently in league 2 the other day, Ayew has been struggling to perform at Ghanian Sunday league level over the summer, Daka is Daka and Winks was no better than Skipp last season. If you look at the squad we had last season, apart from Jordan James and Fatawu, that was a league one level squad.

Considering we spent £100m on transfer fees for the services of those players I dont see how we could be run worse. I dont think there are more incompetent owners than ours in the English football pyramid, especially now that Chansiri guy is gone. Sure there could theoretically be someone worse but practically there is no one worse out there.

No I'm sorry but **** you, you either think King Power are the single worst owners in all of football or you're a KPFC fool and you don't know anything.

There's no room for nuance here, there's black and white only thank you.

It's like Wales. You loves it or you hates it.

I think we know where most of us stand!

I spoke to Daniel a bit after providing those quotes for that article and he 100% gets it. He's smart enough to see through the usual accusations of entitlement or the classic Lineker line of "you would have taken it 10 years a go".

One of his questions to us was "Does the loss of connection feel most bleak here, even more than relegations?" which showed that he understood that this is about so much more than results on the pitch. The connection has been lost due to countless other non-football related decisions.

The entitlement argument doesn't stack up. Didn't the club budget to finish in Europe and have the 7th highest wage bill? Yet eventually we saw those players, trophy winners with ourselves and many other clubs, under a reported elite manager, in a relegation battle. Why wouldn't we question what the hell is happening?

It is a good article.

I'm not talking bookies I'm talking pundits who looked at our squads and thought they were promotion quality certainly not relegation teams but they hadn't seen us play. There was a continual narrative of they'll come good soon. Same as when we first dropped out of the PL. Madison -  we're not getting relegated. Even James last season said we'll turn it around.

FWIW - i think loss of connection is a broader football thing.

Money is everything now; almost all connection to locality has gradually been eroded and has to be confected; glory isnt the goal but profit is; supporters are now 'fans' and 'customers' to be exploited and finally social media amplfies the good and the bad  This disconnect can be disguised when a team is doing well - everyone is happy, players are lauded etc etc. As soon as the good time cycle comes to an end though, the cracks suddenly become more visble. In other words, results are everything because the baseline now IS disconnect.

I think, Sub conciously, being a 'fan' or 'customer' as opposed to supporter makes people less tolerant of poor performance - and perhaps it should

Just my opinions of course

In spite of this accurate monologue, its amazing how so few members of the media/wider supporters can critically think, and simply blindly recite the rhetoric "they won you the league!".

Twas the same when Ranieri was sacked.

Top say's remember Rudkin helped us win the PL when justifying his continued employment so did Ranieri but he sacked him.
