I am slowly but surely, being able to handle the stress of conceding a corner now.

There is still a lot of scar tissue from Brendan and feeling like giving a corner away was the same as a penalty.

I will need more time, but I'm getting there!

Yes, same here! I still get nervous every time we concede a corner but it is slowly getting better!

Enjoying the Championship almost enough to not want to get promoted... almost.

A long way to go, but so far haven't missed the media bombardment and hyper-analysis that follows the Premier League, AND VAR!! Having said that, if we somehow don't go up this season, it'll quickly become a very difficult place to be again, I feel.

Nah, if we are not in the races for promotion, we will very quickly fall disillusioned with the Championship. We love it because we are favourites and we can attack freely while our mistakes are often no punished.

And yes, absolutely love not having VAR!!!

Same.

The difference in standard is absolutely massive.

Just look at the wages between those who play for us and other teams. We pay many many times more.

I mean to have Vardy sitting on 140k a week and a bunch of other players on 50k plus (Vesty, Praet and Daka for example are on 70-80k a week), we are still paying more in salaries compared to some EPL teams!!

Some in the Championship are paying peanuts, like thousands a week to first team players. Hamner who was a top player for Conventry was on like 5k a week last season.

I don't think the club could have been rebuilt well enough in one summer to stay in the premier league. At least this gives Maresca a little more leeway in terms of transitioning the club to his style.  They've still got a long way to go to the get to the point where they won't be favored to go right back down should they get promoted. They're going to need more depth as I would still expect Premier League clubs to come for their best players.

A breath of fresh air compared to last years toxic atmosphere. Strange the media have not realised how awful Rodgers actually was in handling and (de)motivating the squad.

Pretty much. And the players enjoy it because they’re winning - that’s why they look happier and more up for it too.

It helps but it isn't just that. You actually get the feeling that there's some work being done on the training ground in the week unlike under Rodgers. Also the starting lineup isn't as predictable

There’s still 39 games to go, more than a whole Prem season.

There will be ups and downs but enjoy the ride (and lack of VAR/big club bias).

But we ARE the big club now..

There is a huge gulf between the two divisions I admit, but I'm adment that with this squad with no additions we would compete right now in the Prem.  There are about half a dozen sides even now in the Premier League where I probably wouldn't swap more than one player of theirs for one of ours.

It was the worst screw up in Prem history that we went down with the players we had, just shows you how badly we were trained and managed last season.

The composure to see out games the way we do is brilliant to watch. We press well, and defend well as a team. The main difference this season is that we have competent and confident wide players that aren’t afraid to have a go. Exciting times ahead. UTC

It's the mentality for me. It always has been. It's a bit cringe to hear fans going on about teams 'playing the [INSERT TEAM HERE] way', but for us our entire modern identity and indeed the vast majority of our success were built on high intensity, pressing, team breaks and a fast counter.

We lost that over successive managers following the title win, and the decline under Brendan in particular was terminal given his complete inability to motivate players in difficult times. We went from one of the most determined and never-say-die teams in Premier League history to complete yellowbellies who never even pretended to put up a fight. I grew to actively dislike my football club for the first time ever. I didn't recognise it. I wanted MY Leicester back.

Enzo is showing in a very short timescale that the move to possession football wasn't the issue - it was the application out of possession, and of course the willingness to get back into games after conceding.

The real test will be how we cope if we do go back up and start going on a poor run. If that happens, we have two reference points for mentality - the great escape under Pearson (good) and the relegation under Br*ndan (bad). If the players are losing but still showing the backbone and effort we saw in 2014-15, I'll be able to truly say we've got our Leicester back. 🙏

I’ve always found this “we want our Leicester back” irksome. 40 years of supporting this club has shown me no one has a devil right to success & stability. We have had astonishing highs and demoralising lows, we are just winning right now & have some hope. That has happened under numerous regimes, the pitfalls are around the corner. The best we can do is enjoy the highs before the lows.

I do love what is happening right now though.

Everyone ready for a great escape part 2 next season? And then title winners in 25/26, 10 years on from the first...

That's when the Marescalator will reach the top level.

I'm loving every minute of this season. You can tell, I'm not posting on here half as much.

I'm really pleased we have got rid of the glory boys who strolled around thinking they were too good for us and were just biding their time until one of the big boys came knocking on the door. Now we have a load of young lads out to prove how good they are, who are lively and energetic and a manager who knows how to plan and get the best out of them. It is remarkable the difference we see in our more established players who were so woeful last season, lacking any passion and commitment. It was all so very dismal and depressing.

Long may this upturn continue.

Mmmm.

Positives so far and I don't want to piss on anyone's chips, but what concerns me are the almost indisputable stats that suggest that teams that get promoted to the PL are equally as likely to get relegated.

I just hope we have the wherewithal to not be one of those teams.

I’m sure I stated above it’s not only about the fact we are winning?

You can see a game plan, we’ve made sensible signings and gotten rid of the right players.

I’m sure I’ve also said we won’t win every game.

Apologies Mystic Meg, but wind yer neck in.

It’s certainly better than last season and the clear decline under Rodgers.

I refuse, however, to go too early on this. I’m so battered and bruised from last season I feel if I start to get too optimistic I’ll jinx it.

Ask me again in ten games time
