I've applied for this.

They've said we can challenge the status quo, which is good as there are several in our fanbase I'd like to disengage with.

The cabbage soup working group would be the highlight of the week for me.

Being on calls with the old guard supporters groups is fvcking depressing. Won't mention names but they actively oppose any changes that won't benefit them specifically.

Perfect example was bring WYS back, multiple members of groups claiming to represent the fan base knew nothing about the origins of WYS and how it was linked to the club. One said that Hey Jude had more of a link to LCFC ffs.

Jim finally doing one?

...is the position advertised the role that Jim does!!!

I thought he was just someone in a customer service capacity, that did his role very well. He certainly garnered several accolades from posters on here, and I would have thought this role would have been something that he already had a feel for and would be the sensible member of staff to approach.

Least we know why there wasn't any last season as we crumbled towards the most astonishing failure of the Premier League era. That's all left off that little summary of our history that it reminds us Susan overlooked.

You watch, if we do go up this season all of them, including Rudkin, will talk of it like a huge achievement on their part.

Never trusted them since they battered Les Battersby

Somewhat related, Aberdeen have just appointed someone as their Supporter Experience Manager who created their supporters group back in the 90s. Very well liked amongst their fan base and a clever appointment for improving fan engagement.

You'd like to think LCFC might be pragmatic enough to follow the same line of thinking.

Fans work well in SLO roles, that’s probably slightly different at Aberdeen and not on the same level as the HoFE role at LCFC so interesting to see how it evolves. The CEO there is also very fan focussed he was a fan at Motherwell (a Well boi) before working his way up to CEO from a media bod!

This Head of FE role will be a blue chip appointment I’m sure. Loyalty programmes, numbers growth, spend per head etc experience / CV.

I doubt they’ll be a fan, they may well be from another sport, in some ways you kind of want that as football is stuck in its ways.

You’d hope they are in touch with the emotional attachment of a football club but for me the importance of making every fan feel valued, listened to and part of the club is more important than a blue and white scarf.

In a roundabout way I brought this up yesterday on another  thread

the total sycophancy that seems endemic inside the (non football ops) club. Nothing is challenged. Decision making painstakingly avoided. Statements and media scrutiny blocked. All top (no pun) down management. Homage must be paid to our dear leaders, North Korean style.

Aye you're right. It's a rung on the ladder down than the Head of.

As you said, I hope they have an emotional attachment to the club and are willing to challenge the status quo. If it turns out to be an internal appointment, I'd have little faith it'd be impactful.

No surprise a Scottish club has done this.

And yet people on here have suggested that being a Leicester fan could hurt your chances of the role.  Imagine Leicester appointing a UFS member the role.  That's what Aberdeen have effectively done, and you wonder why Scottish atmosphere has been transformed and we have mangers moaning about the lack of it.
