Every single involvement of his in the game is a roll of a 12 sided dice. Could be good and then then next minute awful.

Perfect example yesterday he tracks back, wins the ball well and then immediately almost loses it to put their man through on goal.

Unfortunately though unless we sign someone (we won't), he'll be playing.

@StriderHiryu genuine ask here. What are all these managers seeing in him?

On paper he's a physically intimidating player with a high short pass percentage that can play at the base of a midfield 3 or as part of a midfield 2 to help build, but also offer something defensively.

Notice how I put "on paper" lol

He had a 93% pass percentage yesterday and generally kept his position well, which is important in a system like this. But in my first video about Cifuentes, I highlighted how Guardiola as a player was integral to the way Cruyff's Barcelona team played thanks to his high football IQ and ability to spot and play line breaking passes, and we don't really see how Soumare does that side of the game. Compare the to Winks who for all his faults, was doing that, and got us going after half time.

If it was me, I would have Winks as the Regista and Soumare as the box-to-box player. But in the modern game, and even in the Championship physicality is important. With Ndidi gone, having a tall player in the 6 position should help against long balls from the opposition.

When has he been good though? People can only really point to a small run against Ipswich.

Even when he does one of his trade mark once a month gut busting drive forwards, he holds onto the ball for too long and ultimately ends up squaring it or passing behind the winger instead of playing them through.

He has never had a good game other than the odd tackle or pass.  He won’t suddenly start playing well because he is playing to the best of his ability and mental capacity. Ultimately he is thick and shit, one or the other and it might work but we all

know deep down no matter it won’t.  We can’t even use the patronising “he seems like a good guy” because he’s so lazy.

If the new manager keeps playing him then he is just as clueless/arrogant as the previous two.

His size and height doesn’t matter, he wont use it.  Remember the first Everton goal where he ducked a header then positioned himself behind the player, not even attempting to shield the ball.

He does very occasionally have one of those bustling hustles with ball, running/jogging/moving through the middle, players knocked aside like skittles, but why is it so rare?

Shame, but bye.

I really struggle to see the point of us persisting with him. Yes he will be good enough in this division but we know he isn't for the Premier League which we should be planning and aiming back too at all points. Get him binned off and use some of the youngsters or anyone we can get in with the capability to grow to give us at least half a chance if we go up.

Cheers for that. To summarise he’s good at making the most simple passes in the game

he’s about as intimidating as Filbert

This is shocking. In fact we were playing with 10 men.

That's what most folks think when they see his name on the team sheet.  There's a player in there but unfortunately rarely seen in a LCFC shirt.

Is there a map on the direction of those passes as well. He favourite type is smash it backwards even if he’s not marked or smash it into a player who is heavily marked in the middle, then jog away.

We've got quite a few players with a honking attitude - this guy has the worst of all i think. Just simply plays like he can't be arsed. Be nice if we did our homework on players actual personalities before we made signings

I'd rather a youth player come in, give their all and make mistakes, rather than play with Soumare bumbling around in the middle of the pitch offering absolutely nothing and actively hampering us.

Or put Hamza back in the side, even if he's seen more as a RB now.

Or just pull a random bloke out the stands give them a go.

Surely Soumare cant keep getting away with stinking out the place. At least the likes of Faes and Vestergaard have some redeeming qualities, I'm struggling to think of one thing Soumare does well that wouldnt be easily replaced even by shopping in league one...

This is why I find it so bemusing to see him picked again. Why don’t managers see the same as us. His pathetic effort to block the cross on Sunday summed him up

Incredibly poor call by Marti starting this guy.

Unlike us, Marti hasn't spent a number of years watching him frustrate the living piss out of us.  His exposure to Soumare is literally in the weeks, and in that short time he has to run the rule over ALL of our players.  And that's a lot.  We heard last pre season how good Bouba looked in training.   It might take a spell for him to get the bigger picture.

Be nice to see Page play against Huddersfield in the role.  See how he does.

Agree with the person above who suggested putting Hamza in the side in place of this waster.

Failing that - put in Ricardo (c/w wheelchair or crutches).

Anything but seeing Soumaré slobbing around the pitch.
