He looked immense in parts tonight, his reading of the game is brilliant, he always sees the next picture just need him to piece together all parts of his performance consistently.

Also the run to stop Summerville breaking on the counter, where did that pace come from?!

man is class when he wants to be but has never applied himself consistently. if Ruud can get him playing like the second half on a regular basis then him, skipp/winks, BEK and Buonanotte gives us a fantastic 2-2 in that midfield

Plenty to like about him, but you can't help but be incredibly nervous when he has the ball. Again picked up a yellow for a bit of a rash challenge but almost like he needs that yellow to enable him to play with more awareness.

If only he was more awake from dead balls, switches off for far too long.

Not sure about some of the praise. Especially funny as well in tandem with Ndidi getting motm.

He had some good moments and was OK when he got on the ball, put in a couple of alright tackles.

But they were absolutely walking through us time and time again. There was just oceans of room in the middle of the park as neither of them really held shape and both were frequently just jogging around lost.

Absolutely fully acknowledge that it was a big improvement for him personally and would also say it was a collective, team issue and we had similar when Enzo first came in and tried to establish the defensive shape.

So I'm not for one second calling him out for that performance. But some of these reactions, you'd think he put the shift in BEK did.

**** me where was this bouba 2 years ago:wub:

I think having bilal around the place (oooh French speaking friends) has helped him settle a bit more.

I;m sure he can speak English by now.  I mean, he's not had much else to do.

On the continent there’s serious potential to be a very decent CM in a pivot there, just seems a bit too passive to be a real top PL player.

Reminds me a lot of Pogba, which is both massive praise and a worry. It's like the game is so easy for him he might not try today. Luckily he did tonight!
