There will be other factors that support an increase in shirt sales. Most successful period in our history, consumer preference for actual shirt buying, fanbase has increased and non-fan sales too. I don’t believe gold would be a factor.

But if a fair few don't like it, regardless of success, then they wouldn't buy it and in that case then gold would be a factor.

even if a fair few don't like it, you said that there are enough who don't to warrant it's inclusion. The popularity of the shirts would suggest otherwise and I'd say it's quite the opposite, there are more than enough who do like and/or don't mind it to fully warrant it's inclusion

The bottom line is we play in Blue and White, not gold. This is our heritage. Any tacky additions should be kept to a

minimum.

Yellow, or more specifically Gold, was fully adopted as an official club colour in 1992 when the badge was changed and the foxes head (face on design) was changed from a brown colour to yellow/gold.  At the same time the club introduced three new kits for the following season;  All blue, all white and all yellow as a third kit.

So by that logic, brown was a club colour prior to the gold?

Brown may not have been recognised as a club colour at the time (only blue/white), but I do recall the club formally adopting  yellow/gold at that time.

Yellow possibly but I’m not sure about metallic gold. Worth a look back at least.

Agreed, yellow rather than gold.  Also this kit was yellow in 1987.

I was nine when that kit came out, one of my first shirts. I had Alan Maybury on the back!

So can anyone actually confirm the away colours or is it all speculation?

Light blue. Black and red.
