Listening to The Rest of Entertainment podcast who were taking about the way the match choices go.

For those that don't know, ITV picked first (who picked 1st choice semi final) then BBC (1st choice QF) then ITV (1st choice round of 16) and so on until all matches are selected. The last match picked was Slovakia v Ukraine, 2pm this Friday.

Gotta wait til 8pm for footy today.

Ridiculous 😡

The last day of the group matches they normally hold the matches at the same time. Given that prime time is 8  or 9pm in Europe, it was always going to take place at this time.

The 8pm games maybe good for TV but it's the worst for attending the games.

The 11pm finish puts a lot of stress on trying to get away from the stadiums and back to hotels.

Cologne and Stuttgart was terrible.

There seems to be a lot of school age kids in the stadiums are they on holiday or just missing school?

I was told at the weekend in Poland that school kids finished on Friday there for two months

Germany is down to the individual 'states' - they normally scatter them so the holiday/tourism market isn't overwhelmed - ie. some kids are off now in some parts of the country, others aren't.

Think its flexible abroad, unlike here where you get fined... education in places like Germany are probably still better than ours at present lol

Flexible sounds like something we should adopt to minimise the affect on holiday costs even more so with the weather being so variable.

Abroad its seems like you can take your kids out at anytime for holidays. No questions no problems, i seem to recall back in my school days you could be off for two weeks anytime except exam times. All you needed to fill was a yellow form... fill it .. have a nice time and send a postcard.

Now in the uk its a criminal offence, plus pressure on parents to spend more money and take annual leave at the same time. Having spoke to most school teachers, most werent bothered about when kids went on holiday... its the fools at the top.
