The shares of Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi rose in the international player transfer market, after his remarkable brilliance with the Greek club Olympiacos during the current football season.

English reports revealed that the Leicester City team, which won the English second division title during the current football season and won the Premier League title in 2016, is among the clubs interested in contracting with Al-Kaabi.

Leicester City has become the second English team interested in Al Kaabi's services after Ipswich Town, which is promoted to the English Premier League this season.

Thought he might have been a Taxi Driver with a name like that.

hes a player ive always liked. a late bloomer to say the least. hes played in china, turkey greece and ofc in morocco. from an area not too far from where im from. hard working and much more than just a typical strong big man striker. good passer for his size and can be quick. downside is his age ofc but on a good fee it wouldnt be a bad stop gap for a while.

Fear if we go for this then we'll have our pants pulled down on the deal, the contract and value for money. Acclimatising to the Premier League is pretty tough and we'll need players who can hit the ground running, not need 3 months to get to speed and bed in.

Soon to be 31 year old journey man Moroccan who's not played at any level close to the Premier League.

Just what we need

But beat West ham and scored 5 goals against champs league qualifying Aston villa..

not to mention 11 goals 1 assist in 9 UCL games, and a few in the europa leagues games, all different types of finishes, high energy presser/scrapper, can play in behind  or hold up, aerially great, clinical and very clutch like reminds me of a faster ulloa, he'd Finally give us a decent focal point and He's a free agent I believe

This lad on a free when his contact expires is a no brainier really. Yes he’s older than I would like, but a 2 year deal on a free is not much of a gamble.

Because of?

You know on second thoughts, I think I’ve been abit disrespectful to Islam, here. He’d played at a higher level and scored a raft more goals than old Ayoub.

But, to answer your question:

Age.

Profile.

How terrible value for money any deal would be.

How quickly we’d realise we’d made a terrible mistake.

And this is from someone who thought Slimani would score hatfuls for us. He didn’t, he was far too expensive and we had a nightmare getting him off the wage bill/recouping any outlay. Off the back of winning a European competition, this fella will be too. He’s 30, untried in any top league and will cost a fortune with no resale value at all.

Although this fits our MO with terrible recruitment policy of the last few years, there’s not many scenarios this makes sense IMO.

Avoid at all costs.
