This is where VAR let's itself down. That's not handball. He's being pressured and he has to balance. He's already in his running motion.

But bs, the arm that's touched the ball is the same arm being impacted by the defender

I wouldn't call that a VAR controversy tbh. It's the wording of the handball laws that they're constantly messing up that's the problem.

For the desire to see an upset - great! 

 

However, as everyone else has said: it simply shouldn't be handball. He's running full tilt and being forced by a defender. How is he supposed to ensure a ball bouncing towards him doesn't hit his hand when someone else is moving his arm.
