I think we've voted on changes though. Can't remember exactly, we've been over this before in other threads. Thanks for that, I stand corrected.Vote was in 2013, before we were in the league when the vote took place. 1

Muzzy_no7 Posted 19 August 2024 Posted 19 August 2024 4m would likely be enough to get Jón Dagur Þorsteinsson from OH Leuven so why on earth are we picking this Plonker?

Recruitment Bods allowed to keeps their jobs despite the obvious use usage of recreational substances. In Thailand they would be hanged. This would be a truly shocking acquisition. We are becoming the new Sheffield United. Now let’s go after Andros Townsend and Charlie Austin.
SafewayFox Posted 19 August 2024 Posted 19 August 2024 Seeing this change to Tier 1 without reading the posts has ruined my day and we’ve not even lost at home tonight yet 👀 1

Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 19 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 19 August 2024 I am by no means a fan of this signing, but looking at the stats, he's a different player in terms of role on the pitch to the one I expected: The heatmap indicates he's a winger / wide forward, not a striker. He also spends a lot of time trying to make life uncomfortable for the opposition full back. He only scored 4 goals, but was only expected to score 4 goals, so he converted what came his way. That's despite missing 4 big chances, which would have given him a much better profile. He had 7 assists from an expected number of less than 3. That is a big outlier and I wonder if it's a case of setting up a simple pass for an Olise / Eze wonder strike, or that maybe he's secretly an intelligent passer of the ball? Probably the former. Meanwhile we see he's great at pressing and closing players down, and has a decent ability to beat a man and / or provide for someone else. Hardly a creative outlet then, but last time we went down a large reason as to why was people not pushing themselves because they were lining up their next move. This is unlikely to be the case with Ayew. 4 1

RedSoxUK Posted 19 August 2024 Posted 19 August 2024 Palace clearly don't want to sell to us if we've offered £4m for a near 33 year old and they've not bitten. Played for Palace this weekend and clearly rated by Glasner. Don't need to go over all the qualities he has but it's a sensible signing as a wide option / sure up the game when we're in the position for points / start against much better teams. He's absolutely not coming in as a starting striker but an option upfront / out wide. I'm all for it tbh just don't think he/Palace want it.

Danny Rose for starters. Why are people all of a sudden pretending Spurs are this massive constantly successful team. 1
Number 6 Posted 19 August 2024 Posted 19 August 2024 The weird thing now is that I don't think we're short of experience. You've got Vardy at 37, Coady at 31, Vestergaard at 32, BDR at 31... It doesn't look like there's a big hole there for this squad. The success of our long term business model probably depends on getting in good young players and making a profit. Last summer felt much better organised. 1
