100% agree.
We have a championship manager in charge and will go down the longer he stays. This notion is we should accept that this season is going to be a struggle is nonsense. Yes we’re not going to challenge for Europe but a competent manager will have us finishing between 12th and 15th.

And the key for me is that that need not be the end point. Finishing 14th or 15th this season, having a quality manager in charge and getting us playing some decent stuff before backing him in the summer and we could be back to at least midtable, pushing for the top 8 again, within a couple of years.

Even if Cooper somehow managed to stay and keep us up, it'll be another relegation battle next season where he and we will always feel like we're on borrowed time. His ceiling is well below where we not only want to be as a club, but where we have literally been for most of the past decade.

Hold on, are you trying to tell me that in competitive sport you should always be pushing to be better and not just accept your lot and be content with being mediocre at best?

Not sure that's going to catch on, sounds bloody ridiculous if you ask me.

Cooper Apologists: Nooooooo! We've had our time in the sun and now we want to go back to being shit. We were in League One, you know.

Think we need someone who knows can to organise a defence, plays a high energy, pressing game with good football at pace.

Promote teams trying to play like Man City is suicide.

Still think Diego Martinez gets a chance in England and does well. His work at Granada was exceptional.

He needs to be gone now or ASAP. I just unfortunately know he won't be because as much as the board say they've learned their lesson I don't think they have. Like I know not everyone was keen on the idea of Graham Potter but if the club were serious about staying up they should of just gave him everything he was asking for. If what he was asking for that got said on here was true.

In the last 10 years the average points of a team finishing 15th is about 40 points. So, unless you get 40 points early and then fall off a cliff, it’s going to be a struggle until the last few weeks anyway.

The 14-15 season, which most definitely was a struggle, we finished 14th on 41 points. So even by what you say you would be satisfied with, it is still going to be a struggle.

Not sure. He needs to repair a little. Two poor jobs since that.

This is basically the same side that got relegated under Rogers.

Minus Maddison,Barnes,KDH and

Jonny sicknote Evans.

Also minus Natcho and Daks injured.

Also Vardy 2+ years older.

We are doing well to be competing in games.Think the problem lies deeper than the Manager.Any candidate thinking of his reputation would not touch us with a long barge pole.

You realise we’ve signed players too, not just lost them?

Does anyone still want Potter after his appearance on MNF tonight?

Nice enough guy and seems to be saying the right things, but lacks charisma, very dour and doesn’t look the most confident. Can’t imagine his team talks are the most inspiring.

He's gonna win the next 4 before the Nov International break and loiter about until March/April like Rodgers did even though we knew he should be sacked now.

If Palace’s streak goes on much longer and they get rid of Glasner, I could see him doing well here. I think we have many similar players to the profile of the Palace squad last season - particularly in wide areas - hahaha and I wasn’t thinking of Ayew when I said that. I think he’d get a tune out of us this season.

In fact he’s binned Ayew off this year so if he came in he might get rid of him again.

Don’t want Potter. Just another British manager whose far too arrogant and overrated.

A significant step up on Poops though.

(I’d still prefer Schmidt or Hjulmand, Conceicao etc…maybe Kovac)

There’s too many managers with good reputations that warrant a real look in at a Premier League side. Despite what many people say we have a more than good enough squad to stay up this season.

If he wins the next 4 I’ll streak the length of Soar Valley Way at rush hour

It's absolutely killing me watching MNF with Potter breaking down his tactics and principles. Likes to build with the GK stepping into the backline, with threats out wide and the 8s pushing forward but seems tactically flexible enough to be willing to adapt to the opposition. Would've been such an easy transition for the players to go from Enzo to him and also maximises the strengths of some of our best players (Hermansen, Mavididi, Fatawu) so if we act now then there's still hope.

I'm not bothered if he's not particularly charismatic, as long as he can build an identity for the team and actually look to win games he'll be a miles better option that Cooper. If you asked him to break down his tactics like this I genuinely don't think he'd be able to, he just seems to send them out in a general rigid shape that never changes and hopes for the best.
