Maresca was transfixed with one idea, and deployed it at all costs, his inexperience is what would have harmed us this season. Cooper is tactically inept and is way out of his depth. We need a coach with who is tactically aware and able to maximise the potential this squad has. Not suffocate like Cooper is currently doing. 3

Yes strange argument that Maresca was too dogmatic in his approach and Cooper totally tactically inept so what the hell do you guys want? I would have thought it was bleeding obvious.

Do we ignore that Villa went and got Emery, when Gerrard had them only outside of the relegation zone (due to goals scored) after 12 games 😴 Edited 19 October 2024 by SafewayFox 1

I would have thought it was bleeding obvious. Why is it a strange argument? It’s literally the one major criticism Maresca got whilst he was here, but at least he played a properly balanced squad. Cooper is demonstrating week by week that he his tactical knowledge falls short of what can be reasonably expected of a premier league coach. In fact, he isn’t a premier league coach by any stretch of the imagination. His over cautious approach is an attempt to make up for him not know long how to address the balance of the squad. The attack is being stifled because he’s choosing to play the wrong systems and won’t attempt anything that would potentially mean he has to play too many attacking players. It’s clear with him signing Ayew that his idea will be to scrap his way through the season. Any of the progression gained last season, is being rapidly lost because of his lack of ability to get the attacking side of the team right. All Cooper is doing is throwing 11 players on a pitch and is hoping they can figure something out. 5

Collymore Posted 19 October 2024 Posted 19 October 2024 He should be winning this game today. They're there for the taking. 1

CrazyKopCorner Posted 19 October 2024 Posted 19 October 2024 I'm setting off in a minute. If we lose this due to his continued crapness I'm giving him the full banana Cooper out chant. 2 1
fox_up_north Posted 19 October 2024 Posted 19 October 2024 Does slightly baffle me, in general, when football coaches and managers don't make effective use of their team. They'd be absolutely crap line managers in any other field. The general that sends their soldiers to fight tanks with sticks. 1
Popular Post Micky Posted 19 October 2024 Popular Post Posted 19 October 2024 (edited) I am absolutely baffled as to why so many people want him out. It's crazy. Considering the squad we have, we were always going to be scrapping for survival. To add, we have been more than respectable in every game so far. Edited 19 October 2024 by Micky 6

You also say he isnt up to the job yet we are doing the best out of the three promoted clubs. Because we have the best squad by a country mile out of the three promoted clubs, we should be doing much better than we are 2

FosseSpark Posted 19 October 2024 Posted 19 October 2024 i dont think the squad is as good as we are making out. the cracks got papered over at the last minute but we have: great goalie unproven centreback and shit left back strong cdm and first choice wingers 3 x unproven 19 yo playmakers to choose from. 1 fit striker who is 37. id hardly say the squad is ahead of the bottom 6.

We have a proven CB the idiot manager is just refusing to play him, VK has been fine not great but not awful definitely much better than justin

Considering the squad we have, we were always going to be scrapping for survival. To add, we have been more than respectable in every game so far. Just look at the Bournemouth game. First half we were the better team because we were allowed to play, so perhaps the squad is more competitive than you think. Second half we conceded chance after chance because Cooper had us camped in our own half and failed to respond to the Bournemouth subs. Now any team that is behind will press for an equaliser and gamble a bit more, so was it a case that Bournemouth pushed us back? I say no, at only 1-0, they would still have to be circumspect as a second could kill the game, but Cooper made it easy for them with his tactical retreat, repeating the mistakes of the Palace game. They could pour forward at will and afford to replace their full backs with attackers because we offered no threat whatsoever. These tactics, in a nutshell are why I want him gone. Yes, we will be scrapping for survival this year but inviting teams to attack us is a terrible way of doing that imo. To be honest I'm baffled as to anyone would be baffled. 3

Complety disagree, I think this sqaud is actually not that bad. As for the football, it has been some of the most negative, planless, turgid football I have ever watched. When the luck runs out, the losses will come and fast. Edited 19 October 2024 by DezFox 4

Who’s a realistic, better manager than Cooper put there right now who would take the job, bearing in mind we probably can’t afford to buy out contracts? Just go away, please

Corky Posted 19 October 2024 Posted 19 October 2024 We should have been thumped at least twice, possibly three times, this season. 2
