You could just as easily argue that abandoning fullbacks is the exact reason we got it back to 2-2.

Agree. It did. My point was it was kinda lucky. He had to roll the dice. I get that. But he rolled a six. It was luck.

and people on here were using playing those 3 together as a reason he should be sacked just 2 games ago, btw we won both games, the meltdown pre Palace about that midfield 3 being picked was one for the ages now he's at fault for NOT picking it, make up your damn minds

Agree again but not me. I've liked the three of them fron the get go - tho accept many don't share that view

Enzo is a better manager, had the team playing like a swiss watch and every play knew there job, that's why he's at Chelsea.

We have not played more than 20 minutes of good football under Cooper his selections and tactics along with subs have been poor.

Most of the goals have been scrappy or a bit of brilliance from the player.

I think again the players got us through today. Which sounds mind numbingly obvious.

But late on the players squeezed and controlled and probed - largely via Faes and Winks. It was on field intelligence that won us today

It would be churlish to be upset on a day where we've shown great character to come back and win against relegation rivals, but man that was a tough watch.

Cooper is a transitional manager, so as long as us up and allows us to build for next season, I won't complain.

Not having that this brand of football is better than Enzo ball though!!

100% agree but I think Cooper might be for us what Hughton was for Brighton.  And oddly it might results in the exact same thing.

barely scraping survival each season, then being replaced by a manager who actually plays football?

can we skip to that second part.

Enzo ball was poor.  The best games we had under him he openly admitted he didnt want us to play that way.

His way of play might have been much more enjoyable and effective if we had better quality more suited players, but with what we had overall it was quite poor, massively over playing it to get ball from A to B, and moving the ball backwards and forwards between the same few players whilst in our own half isnt exciting or efficient.

The crazy thing is 10 years ago, everyone would ne happy with this, we all thought Pearson was brilliant, but if that era came now it would be very different.  Claudio also wouldnt have got the support either, as he was relying heavily on fast effective counters.

Now after a few years of Rodgers ball, and Enzo ball, suddenly the majority are thinking its the only way to play the game and everything else isnt good football.  I thought it was just Top being delusional, but it seems he isnt alone.

When we get good moments in games, the posts I am reading are utter lunacy, claiming its the players taking over from the manager and going against his will.  There is so much confirmation bias going on, the human mind is a fascinating thing.

Russell Martin is very similar to Enzo, they have very similar philosophies, so you only have to look at Southampton to see the reality.  I dont know if its people becoming like spoilt children following a few good years, or just not accepting the reality we need to be pragmatic to survive in this division.

Now it doesnt mean I think Cooper is the way forward long term, but I think him or someone similar to him was the way to go after promotion and he is doing a good job.  We got pretty lucky with Chelsea coming in for Enzo, 10 million to do something that would have happened around Christmas anyway with us having to pay him off rather than getting compensation.

look, you can just say you don't like football as a chess match rather than going full "Sean Dyche woke nonsense meme" in response to possession football. Enzos team last season played good football, whether it was enjoyable to watch is a matter of perspective, but technically it was streets ahead of Cooperball

Watching the team last season was certainly as enjoyable as staring at a swiss watch for 90 minutes! Maresca is at Chelsea because they've gone through most top level managers now and because of his connection to Guardiola just like kompany at bayern. Not because he got a low end prem team out of the Championship.

Surely 'good football' is a matter of perspective as well. If not it means that we've only played good football under puel, rodgers and maresca which is clearly nonsense. Ranieri, pearson and O Neil teams all played far better stuff than most of the tedious crap served up under those possesion merchants.

image.thumb.png.25df648686659dee19b0ea7b42b4f2cf.pngWe have been woeful under him, let’s be clear. You can stay up like this, wolves did last year but it will be lucky (and because of Mads)

if we miraculously stay up with him, he needs binning off on the last day of the season like Brighton did with Hughton

Winks is one of the names I was given who’s really not happy with Cooper. The pair don’t see eye to eye, and allegedly he’s taken it up higher with his dissatisfaction as Coopers management style.

Cooper does have a style of play but he allows players freedom of expression and clearly can motivate them.

Maresca was an outstanding tactician but it was all about highly drilled sequences of play.

Chalk and cheese but unfair to call cooper 'out his depth' 'a fraud' 'lucky'.

If players had moments of brilliance his philosophy of play allows it.

Never known such unnecessary vitriol.

2 back to back wins.

Got the subs right

Changed the shape.

Came back from 2 goals to win. Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Fofanna couldn't manage that.

What more do people want honestly.

He's doing a good job several teams are below us. Hate to say it but he is a gifted manager or he wouldn't have the job he has.

What does "Sean Dyche woke nonsense meme" actually mean?

I think it is what some folk stupidly refer to as 'Hard Brexit football'

Ok ok. It’s a result. Is it a great result? No. We should have been winning this anyway. Was it a great comeback and did it show character, yes, in spades, but we should not have been in that position and mistakes made by Cooper AND the team led to the 0-2.

Wins easily paper over cracks and that fine, I understand that. The cracks are still there though and I doubt they will be addressed. Still, we won.

Same old names moaning after a win again I see, clinging onto any excuse. I bet you wanted us to lose today and I see you were at full force at half time reading back. I genuinely feel sorry for you and your state of mind. I’ve just witnessed a game which only come around once in a blue moon with more memories from what is the LCFC rollercoaster to cherish. Why not celebrate the moment?

Absolute scenes in the away end today, maybe you should come to a match and experience it for yourselves!

Up the Foxes!!

Sorry, allow me to try again :)

I think he is saying that it is possible to not like football being very tactical and uninstinctive whilst not lurching to the opposite extreme of yearning for the days of awful pitches, leg breaking tackles, racism and 'it's a man's game' ism.

not really, and it doesn't mean that we've only played good football under Puel, Rodgers and Maresca. Good football means a clear strategy and approach and executing it with at least reasonable competence. Ranieri was good football, it was a highly tactical catenaccio derivative. Conversely, Sousa wasn't good football because there was no understanding of what the strategy was, nor an appropriate set up to pull it off, despite trying for more possession based approach

there's been a meme template going round on football twitter and Reddit of Sean Dyche looking unimpressed and declaring [X] to be "woke nonsense", where [X] is just the world not being the 1980s anymore: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sean-dyche-utter-woke-nonsense
