This is an opportunity to make a quick change. But I think they'll only make a change if someone they are keen on (you know who) openly says, I'm ready for it. Unless that happens our board will sleep walk into relegation...again!! Such a soft feeble underbelly to this club, it's unreal. When we came up and were bottom of the prem with Nigel, I was still hopeful. We were in games, very unlucky in some but there was fight, direction and clearly players that wanted to play for the manager and lots of belief. A bit like Ipswich now, and that's why I think they have a chance to survive. Right now, the club the fans and the players look like they have none of that. Edited 12 November 2024 by fox_favourite

fox_favourite Posted 13 November 2024 Posted 13 November 2024 There isn't enough/if any noise around this to be happening this week. He'll be in charge for Chelsea an Brentford at least is my take on things. More painful game watching to come. Enzo will rip us apart. 1

Claudio Fannieri Posted 13 November 2024 Posted 13 November 2024 (edited) Some rumours on X that he will get until at least December, which if true I reckon gives him the Chelsea, Brentford and possibly West Ham games, if he fails to win any of those that takes the run without a win to 7 and I think that will definitely be the end of it. I still think this international break was the perfect time to make a change and bring in the new manager in readiness for what is a hectic spell of games leading up to the transfer window, also gives the new man a decent run of games to assess the squad and potential targets to bring in. I completely agree. There are also possible replacements available. By Xmas those options might have other jobs. It's just not worth the gamble. We could be in all sorts of trouble by Xmas. His win percentage is poor, his tactics are poor, his game management is poor, it looks like his coaching is poor and he's indecisive. I really wanted him to stabilise us and set us up hard to beat. Neither have happened, sadly. It's clear to anyone it isn't working. Edited 13 November 2024 by fox_favourite 1

This would not be surprising and I can even see the logic in giving him a bit more time. We’re three places above the relegation zone and have just lost a game that we were expected to lose. Yes, the performance was shocking, but there are going to be one or two of those over the course of the season and it’s better they come in games we were never likely to win rather than in games we should be picking up points from. So I can understand why the club hasn’t pulled the trigger yet. But for me it’s just delaying the inevitable. When I look at how lacking in coherence we still are after 11 games, how disorganised we are defensively (despite playing defensive line-ups), how heavily reliant we are individual moments of brilliance, and when I look back at how Forest were under Cooper and realise that this is just what his teams do, and I ask myself: “Is this man going to be with us at the end of the season?”, the answer is a resounding ‘no’. And when you’ve sadly concluded that a certain situation is never going to work, you just want that situation over with as soon as possible so that it can be replaced with something else. It just feels like we’re in that weird interim period at the end of a manager’s reign when most of us know it’s not going to work out but it hasn’t yet got quite bad enough for the club to do the necessary. The only thing to do is wait around growing increasingly apathetic until one day the news will come that he’s gone and we’ll be jolted back into life with the adrenaline shot that the appointment of a new manager always brings. Nolucklcfc Posted 13 November 2024 Posted 13 November 2024 Do feel if it was going to happen, it would have been on Monday. Just don’t see it happening now. Few more loses and wasted points, and they might start to think about it.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 13 November 2024 Posted 13 November 2024 (edited) With clubs at the bottom there comes a point when you have to be decisive than your rivals in order to get the better options that are available. Also if he goes now then a new manager will have a few games and can assess where he needs to strengthen in Jan (if we can). Edited 13 November 2024 by Wasyls Pec Deck 1
Vazman Posted 13 November 2024 Posted 13 November 2024 Giving him longer, is funny, to do what exactly, confuse things even more, allow complacency to set in even further, accept poor performances, the fact we cant play for a minimum of 60 mins with purpose, is enough to get rid, the writing is on the wall, all we can hope is the odd 20 to 25 mins we can play in a match with purpose, will give us some points, it's just about worked upto this point, albeit with alot of luck, get rid and let's get this team some decent leadership and direction with some clear objectives 1
