Having watched Musk’s gesture and read the debates, I’d say:

- Is he deliberately and knowingly doing something that looks like a Nazi salute? Yes. He even pauses and sets himself before doing it.

That's OK then, nothing worrying there.

What does that matter, when you do something this dangerously irresponsible?

For me, the 'Roman salutes' and open support for AfD are just signs of someone that values good old hard work and common sense.

Wracking my brain for other things it might mean but so far just coming up with blanks

An element of fiddling whilst Rome burns.

Nothing will impact his life significantly anymore, short of total and irredeemable civilisation collapse globally. That won't happen in a way that he will feel. So why not entertain yourself by agitating and unsettling the proles.

For the lulz.

Is anyone else concerned that with the thousands of new houses the government wants in constructing/going to construct, that there may be potentially a lack of sites to make food for the population etc?..

The UK has been a net importer of raw food goods (i.e. animals and stuff grown in the ground) since the mid 1800s. Even during WW2 we imported more food than we made in the UK. You could build on half the farms in the UK and we'd be able to feed the population just fine (obviously there are other reasons why you might want to preserve domestic agricultural production).

Imagine getting rug pulled by the President of the United States and First Lady lol
For anyone unaware, a few days ago trump launched a "meme coin" (crypto) where 80% of the supply is held by him and his inner circle and 20% are distributed to the public, the 80% is split into different groups and those coins are "locked" for a period of time between 3-12 months, hundreds of millions have been lost in mere days, and in 3 months when the first round of his inner circles holdings are unlocked we are going to see people losing even more.

It's a blatant rug pull, and 2 days ago Melania launched her coin too. Wild.

I can honestly say that there isn't a politician in the country for whom I have greater contempt than Nigel Farage.

He is nothing more than a snot-streaked tissue stuck to the sole of British politics—a parasitic, pus-leaking carbuncle whose only talent is gargling his own bullshit while bootlicking the rich and powerful like a dog lapping up its own sick. His entire existence revolves around playing fluffer to bloated narcissists like Donald Trump and Elon Musk, bending over backwards to polish their egos even as they barely conceal their contempt for the slimy, sycophantic twat. Watching Farage fawn over those pricks is like seeing a mangy stray humping the leg of someone trying to kick it away. He doesn’t care, though—he’d debase himself on all fours if it meant a crumb of relevance or a nod of approval from his idols.

The man oozes desperation from every pore, a greasy, tobacco-stained puppet who’d sell his soul—if he ever had one—just to stay in the orbit of power. He acts like a hard-nosed populist, but he’s nothing more than a shit-smeared court jester, grovelling at the feet of men who wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire. The image of him giggling like a schoolboy at Trump’s rallies, or gargling Elon Musk’s half-baked ramblings, is as revolting as it is pathetic—Farage, the walking embodiment of a used wet wipe, perpetually smeared with the filth of men who couldn’t care less whether he lives or dies.

Now he's trying to weaponise the Southport murders. This absolute sewer-dweller saw a tragedy—an unspeakable act of violence and grief—and thought, “How can I twist this into fuel for my cheap, bigoted agenda?” It’s the moral equivalent of pissing on a fresh grave, but that’s Farage in a nutshell: a soulless, festering scab who can’t let a single moment of human suffering pass without squeezing it for his own gain. He’s a rancid cocktail of cowardice and opportunism, a pus-filled boil on the arse of society, and the fact that he still draws breath while spouting his toxic garbage is proof that life isn’t fair. The sooner he fades into obscurity, the better—for all our sakes.

You don't like him then?

... did anyone really think this wasn't a modern day pump and dump scam?

Wild that the instigator is president though. Nixon would admire the degree of crookedness.

I've watched the clip several times and I don't think he meant it as a Nazi salute at all. It looked like an awkward gesture not untypical of somebody with autism, which Musk has.

I'm not remotely a fan of Musk and I share people's despair at the prospect of a second Trump term, but I think the reaction to what was an awkward hand gesture from somebody with a social communication disorder has gotten a bit out of hand.

This is exactly what he wanted by the way. I'm loathe to suggest he's put thought into anything but on this I think his gesture was extremely deliberate. Chosen to be close enough to a Nazi salute to signal to certain people in the states, but with enough deniability to mean even sensible people try and explain it away.

Erm. He's spent enormous amounts of money and resources pushing increasingly far-right ideologies.

One of the most recent and the most pertinent to the Nazi salute being:

“Only AfD can save Germany, end of story, and people really need to get behind AfD, and otherwise things are going to get very, very much worse in Germany,” Musk said during an audio livestream alongside party co-leader Alice Weidel on X.

There's obviously room for cynicism here, does Musk believe all of the things he says or are they purely just to promote himself both in terms of profile/power and financially? Definitely I think his only guiding belief is more for Elon please. But that's a bit tomayto, tomahto really isn't it? Doesn't matter if he believes it deep in his soul, he's openly promoting deeply unpleasant far right propaganda and has been for a while.

It is. But I think it also instructs how to fight him. Musk is hollow. So are the rest of them. His army can be turned against him because the things they believe aren’t in his interests.

Wonder how his behaviour in general will affect Tesla.

He's becoming a bit more than just a dick head now

Surely can't be too long before other car manufacturers start offering free car exchanges for Tesla owners?

I'm certain it wasn't. Watching it, it was an awkward movement from a socially awkward guy with a poor choice of movement. I can't stand him, but I'm sure it wasn't this.
