Jurić sacked as soon as Southampton are mathematically relegated. If the same thing doesn't happen with us, we'll know the intention is to keep RVN next season.

A possibility that we have to wait until after June 30th to sack him? I.e wait until into next accounting period?

Surely not though because that would be a month of waiting around after the season is finished?

You would hope that there would be a relegation clause, which would enable us to do it soon. But hope can be a dangerous thing...

Looks like Southampton have acted upon a relegation clause but the way Ruud talks about not leaving makes me really worried that Rudkin wasn't clever enough to put a similar clause in Ruud's contract.

Even that doesn't mean he can't be put on gardening leave and a pre-contract agreement can't be signed with his replacement.

A relegation clause likely means reduced compensation, not zero?

Rudkin and clever arent 2 things that are generally in the same sentence.

Sure he has signed Rudd on a 3 year watertight contract

I wonder if there's a possibility of him ending up with a Graham Potter and Chelsea type scenario so we don't have to pay him off in a lump sum, thus adding yet more expenditure to PSR calculations, but can appoint his replacement?

If the current regime is in place. They will keep him till the end of June, then waste a load of time trying to get someone who doesn't want to come here, then employ a 3rd rate second choice.

Rudkin might try and tempt him from the Hammers! lol

Don't even joke!

Honestly, I think our current position might mean that they'll have to use Google for the first time in appointing a new boss.

His press conference last week didn’t sound like someone that knew their time is limited with relegation and the sack approaching it was asking the board to start working on deals asap for next season and keeping players etc

BBC Sport have run article saying that was it mistake for Southampton to sack Russell Martin?

To be honest with Southampton whoever was going to takeover they were already down, could we see Russell Martin being rehired by Southampton. Not the first time a club have sacked a manager and rehired them later.

That would be my assumption, yes. Highly unlikely to be zero.

Right, so, because it’s not zero, that’s a reason they could ‘need’ his sacking to be in the next accounting period

This is a real issue for the Premier League. 26 points was the most for a promoted team last season and it could be the same this time. Yes our problems have been self inflicted, but it’s not a coincidence that every team is struggling so badly. None of the Championship sides look anywhere near the required level this season. Why would any neutrals want to watch any of these uncompetitive matches? Even supporters of the teams involved don’t want to watch them.

Saints were more justified than us to sack I think, but kinda pointless to bring some no name to change the tide.

I just realised that if the prem come back and say we breached psr (I think we were under investigation still) then we might break derby’s record

Think the max point deduction we can realistically get is 6, so we’d be equalling it at worst.
