Yeah, people like to say "when will people admit Ayew was a good signing !!!!!" he cost us c. £8 million – I refuse to believe we couldn't have gone to a market like Scandinavia and picked up someone a lot younger, on an upward trajectory and with *heaven forbid* sell-on value for around the same price. Nanasi cost Strasbourg around the same ffs.

Bounanotte cost Brighton 5.

What is interesting is who is the source briefing Tom Collomose with this level of insight, it seems whoever it is, is looking to paint club or a certain individual(s) in a poor light, this is only going to further damage Rudkin’s position and reputation amongst the fanbase.

Almost as if there someone who wants to make his position as precarious as possible or even untenable.

It’s probably someone who is actually telling us the truth, rather than John Percy, who, as reliable as he can be, gets his info from the club and is therefore, telling us what the club want him to tell us.

Not neccesarily. It could just be Edouard's agent. These things can be fed in to reporters because Rudkin and co are doing these sort of things. He has made his own position untenable.

it is usually a players agent that isnt happy with the club. So wouldnt surprise me if it is someone like Cannons agent

Edourde was a big gamble knowing the guy had failed at his last 2 clubs well he did have a decent first season at Celtic. That’s when rogers had his eye on him. The guy has Gond completely off the boil. Looks devoid of all confidence and it would take some massive investment on Rudy’s part to get him going again. We just don’t have the time or energy to revive his career while the roof is on fire. The BIG. Mistake in the contract was not being able to send him back at our choosing. Palace has conned us and now we are screwed!

What a complete waste of money. I'm guessing we could not register him in the league squad and bring in another loan alongside Buonatte, it might encourage palace to take him back if they know he's never going to play, but also never do business with us again.

I hope we knew this before the window opened, but I doubt we bothered to ask the question until now!

Knowing Rudkin we will Buy him just so we can loan someone else.

Nowt like having some expensive deadwood on the books.

Tbf he’d absolutely slap in the championship. It might not be a bad idea.

Palace could sell him abroad couldn’t they? I bet we’re covering a lot of what is probably a healthy wage as well. But if you’re Palace and you know leaving him here makes us less able to operate and bring players in (ie another loan) surely that makes sense for them?

Surely it’s good to be suspicious when a rival tries to fill up 1 of 2 loan spots with someone who has really gone off the boil? But no, Rudkin fell for it hook, line and sinker!

'loan fee was significant'.

GET RUDKIN OUT.

It's just the most spectacularly badly run club in the league. Doesn't even really annoy me anymore. It's laughable at this point.

It just gets worse. Never seen a supposed director of football get away with delivering rubbish time and time again.

It's got to the point where i don't want to hear any news about the club. There's nothing to be positive or optimistic about

Basically I read that as, unless we sort a loan move abroad for the player that matches the same deal we are currently paying - Were stuck with him.

Why on this earth would Palace want this cart horse back!

Wait, so we can't just cancel the loan? We've paid a "significant" fee, and have no right to cancel the loan?
Presumably because we are covering wages and Palace would then end up with those wages on their books?

This is the bit I dont understand. When negotiating, what is it that we are paying the significant sum for and why is always us ? Palace did not want him. In fact Palace needed to get rid to get Nketiah in. So why are we paying significant sums of the clubs money to get in a striker who wasnt wanted. He could've gone the other way and been an absolute star for us but the reality is, at the time of getting him across, he wasnt a highly sought after player - they are now risking the clubs future by these ridiculous decisions.

There is no foward planning. There is no contigency. There is no risk awareness. Its not incompetence any more, its negligence.

Wish Top would read this.

This is the thing, we've paid a fee to take him, and presumably are covering his wages, why would palace agree to take a player back that won't play AND palace then have to start paying his wages.

Utter madness from this club, this is Dejphon Chansiri levels of club ownership/DOF

He can only play for Leicester City and/or Crystal Palace until 1/7/25.

"Abroad" doesn't matter, it's a FIFA rule. Players can only be registered for two clubs in a season.

Does this mean we cannot get another loan?

As i read into it, we can only register 2 loans at any 1 time, but can register a maximum of 4 loans in 1 season,

So we can de register Edouard to register another, but would still have to pay his wages, some £90k a week. An expensive error again.

Can be registered for 3 but only play for 2

So he could be sold, but just can’t play for them
