Does anyone know if monga’s availability to train with the first team is limited by hours per week or by school commitments.  If the former then perhaps he would be able to be involved enough to make it onto the bench at Brighton as now in holidays

of course there’s his GCSE’s that he should be revising for aswell

May I point out that Jake Evans is a star in the making as a winger. We've played him up front as a striker just because we can but I'd be very surprised if he makes it to the top level as a centre forward over being a winger or a 10.

Only watched him a couple of times in the U21s but looks very comfortable upfront and scored a lot of goals from there no?

I'm wondering as someone who has clearly watched him more than me what makes you think he lacks the quality to be a striker and would be better on the wing?

He's comfortable up there yes, but his best position is out wide IMO.

It's pretty normal for the some of the best strikers to start out as wingers. Van Persie, Henry, Lewandowski all started as wingers, im sure there's more.

His skillset is more valuable as a striker in my opinion, it's harder to find a striker who can drive with the ball and run in behind than a clinical winger.

He’s already playing for the team who were champions when he was 6/7.

My concern would be his size, he may well still get taller but he's only about 5ft 7-8.

Same height as Aguero already tbf. Not all strikers need to be good in the air if they can shoot well and create chances for themselves.

He's 17 but yes, still may grow taller.

Sure the comms said he was the second youngest player to play in the Prem at 15 years and 200 hundred something days!

This there were cross conversations. There was some chat about Evans too in the thread.

Sad that so many choose a club they have no tangible links with.

Although I’m sure as these professionals get older, their allegiances will change, or they will at least develop a soft spot for the team they’ve come up through the ranks with.

I remember reading Nelson is a United fan. I’m sure if we keep him till he’s 24/25 and he’s playing, he’ll say he’s a Leicester fan…

I'm not really sure what Evans is like as I've only seen his goals and the occasional highlight but Aguero was a strong lad, very difficult to move him off the ball once he had it at his feet.

It's very rare that successful strikers are both small and weak.

I'm on about Jake Evans and my opinion he's a natural winger rather than a striker but will be interesting to see how his career unfolds. He turned 17 in the last couple of weeks and I'm waiting to hear if he's signed his first full professional contract with us, or if he'll also be pinched.

He's very strong for his age and runs with power. You can see in this clip how he isn't phased at all by the stoke defender trying to contest with him physically while he is running with the ball.
