yea, because if he played it'd make it obvious that Ayew and BDCR were completely pointless signings, because we've already got a young winger who can perform the role they do. maybe then we wouldn't also have binned off the 147 game run (dating back to December 2020, a 2-1 win over Sheff Utd where Barnes was rested) of having an academy graduate on the pitch

I think it'll be that but McAteer on for Ayew who will be rested ahead of him being made captain away at Arsenal and a full 90 minute display despite defying science.
