For me it's all about our attitude. If we go out there to win, we will. If we go out there, not to lose, then we won't.

Based on the tenure of our owners.  The only coaches who didn’t get long at the start of a campaign were Sousa and shakey.  Mind you, Shakey’s record was 1-3-4 when he was sacked after GW8 ……… ( and the four defeats were against rich six opposition). My recollection of that period was the football was desperate- just kick it long for vards to chase and hope something drops for us.).

If we got smashed by 5 today then they may think ‘oh, I wonder if Steve is really the right fella’.

Both under Vichai though which is the difference. He knew what had to be done and when.

Spot on!

Cooper's alleged idea of 'defending from the front' with Ndidi and Ayew is extremely flawed. The fact is we're statistically top of the Premier League for shots against and bottom for shots for! The fact we've got 6 points has been more about luck than managerial judgement and tactics.

One reason it isn't working is that playing that way offers no threat whatsoever and the opposition, contrary to Cooper's reasoning, have an easy time defensively and concentrate on merely attacking us! Let's be honest, some of the scorelines have flattered us and had it not been for some poor finishing we could have shipped 6 goals easily on a couple of occasions.

By playing Mavididi, Vardy Buonanotte and Fatawu from the start would surely have more effect on both extremes of those stats quoted. Neither Buonanotte or Fatawu are shy at completing their defensive duties and certainly offer far more in the final third than Ndidi and Ayew.

Lose against Southampton due to a defensive 'must not lose' approach deserves Cooper to be thrown out on his ear ... but I doubt it would happen.

Less attacking seems to equal being more defensive by Coopers tactics.  If Ndidi and Ayew play, it will be all game even though they will be battered by 60 mins. By the second half the opposition can just walk into our half with no pressure.

I expect the usual sitting back and waiting to mop up wave after wave of attack.

Watch JJ give away fouls in dangerous areas as he tries to last ditch defend the area he has left wide open.

Soton will change 3 subs at once to add energy.  Copper will stand around like he’s about to bob his pants and can’t decide what to do next.  78 mins for the first sub and 85 for the usual Mav and Fatawu change.

Still can’t play a RW on the RW and shoehorning two attacking mids into the team.  I hope Bilal doesn’t struggle otherwise he sub Ayew on quick.

The thing is with Cooper is his subs. The Bournemouth game being the most stark example.

we needed to get control of the game in the middle, bring on winks. JJ is overloaded, get Ricky on. Pace on the break, get Abdul on. If we need to chase the game today, get Vesty and Winks on to start picking the passes.

Cooper has - for my money - so far shown he doesn't know how to react in games as his weakest point

El Khannouss and Buonanotte both start. Interesting. Winks dropped again which I'm not too fussed about to be fair as Ndidi and Skipp have performed better so far this season and we can't be playing all 3.

From what I’ve seen on their match thread, they also think Cooper’s a terrible manager - same goes for Russell Martin.

Two dogshit managers going head-to-head.
