Why would Tanner know anything, when was the lat time he broke a story that turned out to be true?

Didnt he say it was Potter last time?

So which clubs do you think they are holding out for, very unlikely that any of the big six will be looking for a manage in the foreseeable future.

Think he’s waiting for Everton after dyche when friedkin has taken over

We have to be realistic though? what high calibre manager who is out of work is realistically going to come to us?

If Top is driving the recruitment process he won’t be bothered about appointing someone  Ruskin disapproves of or worried about . Probably happy to back his choice with funding too - come on down Mourinho 😉

Works well if the business involves Au pairs, not so well if it was Quick Fit

But it helps if the au pair is both quick and fit.. 😐

The more you think about it, the more it seems like RVN would be the target. The movement feels sudden, like there was a movement the club wanted to get ahead of to not miss a target. Moyes and Potter have both been free for a while and don’t look close to taking anything, more than likely would wait until the sack race begins.

RVN however is urgently seeking employment, put his name in for coventry and is in talks with Hamburg… so if this move is based on a plan like it’s being described, surely that plan was to get him before he goes to a club below us in the food chain.

This is what Tanner writes in the article published a short while ago on The Athletic:

"The next step will be crucial. The Potter ship may have sailed, although Leicester have held a long-term interest in him, but there are also admirers of Ruud van Nistelrooy internally at the King Power stadium, and while David Moyes is available, he seems an unlikely appointment."

So he doesn't really offer an opinion on Potter at all - just an observation that he's turned us down before. However he does have an opinion that Moyes is unlikely...

So he knows nothing either and it’s all speculation.

Happy to give some info over regarding Moyes. Father in law's a big hammer, as is the wife and I've seen them play a lot over the past few years.

His football is not as bad as is made out. It's pragmatic. In his time at West Ham he brought through players like Bowen, Rice, Soucek, Kudus, Paqueta. Lets remember he brought some of these players such as Paqueta, who was a huge coup at the time and shows he does have some pull. He likes strong defenders who defend first, so would favour players such as Souttar over Faes. Think of players like Coufal who was loved by West Ham, who was a rock hard bastard no-one would mess with.

In terms of his football, he favours quick wingers. So you'd see him probably get the best out of Mavididi. He also likes to get the ball out from back to front quickly, which lets face it is what we've come to love about Leicester since we began out Premier League journey again years ago. His tactics are relatively simple, and it does require players to run and have a lot of energy. You would see our running stats per game go right up. Every player also knows their role which lets face it under Cooper we definitely need.

A lot of Moyes' teams have success playing with strong wingers. He'd have succeeded further at West Ham further if they had a proper centre forward, as he ran with Antonio for most of his time, and he did manage to shift him to become a rather effective striker from a winger.

My father in law loved Moyes in charge. They were competative in every game, they were strong and hard to beat at times and he turned a shit show under Pellegrini into gold, keeping them up, getting them into Europe, a Europa League semi-final and then winning the Europa League. Infact a large amount of the fanbase did not want Moyes to go last season. Yes some wanted 'better football' in a sense, a more European brand such as what we had under Maresca, but they've learnt quickly this season that life isn't always greener on the other side.

His football isn't that bad, and he's lets remember a bloody good bloke. He was put in place at Man Utd by Ferguson because of his brilliance at Everton too. Imagine what he could do here with some money and some grafters in the team, he could get us back up to challenging for Europe. I'd place him on par with Rodgers with that sort of appointment.

Lets remember, David Moyes is NOT Dyche.

He can't have been watching that closely if he thinks they won the Europa League.

I like moyes, but that’s probably because I imagine that’s how i’d aim to manage a side as well.

If you have a strong enough defence with engines in cm, than the other 4 spots can be as attacking as you like. A moyes system would technically have allowed for mavi, buonnanotte and fatawu to all play and not feel like we are getting over run.

Just like the summer, not too enthused by the names on the list. West Ham played terrible football under Moyes with alot better squad than ours, Potter has turned the job down before so doesn't say much for his enthusiasm for it, and RvN is too inexperienced. I'd personally go for Corberan- he's done a very good job with West Brom in difficult financial circumstances and was rated highly by Bielsa when he worked with him

Is he really? His win percentage in Pl isn’t that good. I’d much rather we looked abroad. Much better options without pl experience and readily available.

I think he's better than the likes of Thomas Frank and Nuno etc. But that's my personal opinion, he's comfortably better than the bottom 6 incumbent managers, the likes of Garry O'Neil, Kieran McKenna etc.

Ref potter - we don’t know that he actually turned down the job before. (apart from when we sacked rodgers and he wasn’t mentally ready to step back into the fray with a club on the cusp of relegation )

What we heard in the summer was that he was close to being appointed but that there were issues with his backroom staff and the club didn’t want to wait for it to be sorted.

Is Coberan doing that much of a good job? 2 points in front of Neil Harris Millwall sacked from League 2 Gillingham 12 months ago

I think Gary o Neil is a v good coach

and McKenna could be anything given time

Frank and nuno have proven themselves to be very capable coaches

I'm not clear why Potter would take it now having turned us down (again) only a few months ago. The points deduction has gone away but we're still strongly at risk of relegation, and the ownership would seemingly rather liquidate the club than do anything to harm Rudkin's position so his own DOF isn't happening either.

I doubt we’d go in for Coberan but that would at least have some long term vision with him being proven in the champ if we go down, appreciate he hasn’t got West Brom promoted but he has done a terrific job there.

If he comes here with a 33% win rate then he keeps us up.

Point a game from this point gives us 36 points. Last club to be relegated with that many points was Newcastle in the year we won the league.
