I know we are all impatient, but if he were to be sacked, it all takes time.

The recruitment department should be in overdrive now (as if). However, I don't think the new replacement should be behind the desk until the season is over. Clean slate and all that. Somehow need to leave as much baggage behind as possible. Next season will determine our fate for many years. It's massive and we can't afford anymore mistakes. Dyche, come on down.

Q: You said in the programme you wanted a performance that reflected what the badge meant. Do you feel your players got anywhere close to that tonight?

RvN: “No. We, and this includes myself… when after 34 minutes, we’ve lost the game, I don’t think we were able to do so.”

Q: The atmosphere is quite tense. Do you think that’s having an affect on your players?

RvN: “Not only that but also the run of form we’re in, the lack of goals, you’ll come up with the stats and the records. It’s also something that affects every one of us. It’s clearly very difficult to come out from.”

Q: Do you feel you need to be careful with Jeremy Monga in terms of the situations you introduce him to?

RvN: “Today, we felt it was the moment to bring him on, to let him have his debut. He showed glimpses of his quality at such a young age. Well done to him and his family for this great moment.”

Q: You mentioned before that you wouldn’t consider Monga because of restrictions around his training time. Has anything changed?

RvN: “Apparently.”

Q: What has changed?

RvN: “We decided to add him to the squad, so that changed from the weeks before.”

Q: It’s the worst losing run in the club’s league history. What do you say to the players after a run like that?

RvN: “What I want to say is that it’s very disappointing. If I speak for myself, coming here with the intent to bring the club forward, so far it didn’t work. I tried different things, different players, different structures, without results. That’s what I can say about how I feel at this moment. That’s it.”

Q: You mentioned on Thursday about wanting clarity over the ‘alignment’ at the club. Have you had conversations with anybody at the club about that?

RvN: “It’s clear the most important thing is this club, and what’s best for this club, and that’s also something we have to discuss.”

Q: Are those discussions planned?

RvN: “It’s about tonight for me and the run of form we’re in, the position we’re in, and that’s it for tonight for me to react to.”

Q: Harry Winks wasn’t in the squad again. It’s reported it’s concerning a dispute between you and him. Is that correct?

RvN: “It’s not the moment to speak about individuals. We have other things to address, so I think it’s not correct to speak about individuals at the moment.”

Q: Is he not under consideration for selection?

RvN: “As I said, it’s not the moment to speak about individuals.”

Q: Is there anything you can say to offer hope for the future?

RvN: “I think for now, it’s been such a bad run, a bad run of games of not getting results and not being able to score goals, that for me it’s time to recover from this first before I can say anything else.”

Q: Do you remain committed to Leicester for the rest of this season?

RvN: “The most important thing is the club and these players. That’s what I would say for now.”

Q: Do you see yourself carrying on for the rest of the season?

RvN: “The most important thing is the club and the players. That is my reaction.”

He's finally switched from sounding like he believes he's staying to the kind of euphemistic answers managers give when they know they're leaving. Surely just a matter of time now...

There are a couple things in that

one is that clearly he was told to include monga - so he’s effectively no longer in control of squad selection

next one is that he absolutely is not staying for much longer.  Wolves need 4 points for us to be relegated after gw 33.

let’s say that his exit on relegation will bring him a reduced payout of £500k. If we sack him before relegation then we’re obliged to pay him a years salary of 2.5m.   So his people and our people will be discussing a middle ground. The closer we get to relegation the bigger his risk becomes that we just sit out the final week or two and save the money.

Yeah I think last night was bizarrely the first time he’s genuinely sounded like walking away.

Agreed, except the Dyche point!

But the biggest problem we have is the Chairman, DoF and CEO, who will lead the process to recruit the next manager. I wouldn't trust them to run a whelk stall. The only big decision they got right in recent years (Enzo) was pure luck, thanks to Scott Parker saying no.

Yes interesting on monga point.

How's he got the audacity to still be here.

Talk about worst manager in the clubs history, he's well on his way to being the worst in Premier League history.

I'm not a Dyche fan either but next season is just so important that we can't leave it to chance. We know what we'll get, it won't be pretty, but he'll stabilise the squad and grind out enough results. He might get a better offer elsewhere though.

He's now basically got the highest loss percentage of any manager (15+ games) in the PL era

Haven’t disliked a Leicester manager this much since the Megson & Holloway combo in 07-08.

One of the most clueless, unmotivated, dullards that this club have ever employed.

We need no nonsense, charisma, a motivator to get us out of this mess. We badly need another Nigel Pearson.

Otherwise I fear we’ll hit another 04-08 period again.

Dyche is probably the closest you’ll get to another Nigel. My only problem with him is that he’s friends with Rudkin and so the cycle continues.

This is a question rather than me wanting him.

Could Dyche be that? He always comes across well I think. Set up Burnley to be a club that is top of Champ or surviving/nearly surviving in the prem. At Evorton he wasn't great, but if we'd have had him 2022/23 we'd have stayed up at the expense of them I think.

Issue there is I think fans might not like the forest connections again and the football will be dull. I'm not an advocate of Dyche, just asking the question.

I'm afraid the board are to blame here, they've gone AWOL for weeks now ever since the club has reached a critical point (while there was still a minimal chance of escape). That in itself is criminal negligence never mind RVN's behaviour and total inability to fulfil his role.

The reality is, Top and Rudkin are unlikely to be going anywhere. Therefore, we need a Manager who will take the whole club by the scruff of the neck and control as much as possible. There aren’t many out there, but Dyche is one of them. Pearson is another, but he has his own battle going on. Moyes was another but we got RVN.

I would feel a lot better if we got a Manager in that took away as much power from Top and Rudkin as feasible, with the attitude of “It’s my way”. Give him a budget, let him bring in an experienced team across all departments, and Top take a step back and let this Manager reshape the club.

Something has got to change, and it won’t be Top and Rudkin, so let’s get a Manager that has the arrogance and experience, to steamroll them both.

We tried that with Rodgers.

You know the thing that is the most frustrating. It’s over and everyone knows it’s over. Including Top and Van Nistelrooy.

Despite the financial reasons for why he hasn’t gone yet, with that knowledge and the disaster that has been this season, which in my opinion is the worst not only because of the results but the basic lack of professionalism, you’d expect us to be prepared with a replacement. Right now, doing the background work on a replacement.

With our history of always taking too long to act, the lack of basic knowledge of potential replacements and Top’s audacity to think he adds any value to the process, being proactive instead of reactive would show some effort to change on part of the little *****.

But no, you just know Mr. It’s not my fault, will be sat there with 2 inch cock in his finger tips, watching each of these defeats and the disasters. Holding no one to account and will only start to think about it two days after Van Nistelrooy eventually goes and perhaps after this god awful season has ended. This is the standard this waste of sperm had brought to this club and I ****ing despise him for it.
