Question for everyone (and i'm not for or against just curious)
If we play for the rest of the season how we did today, would you accept Ruud being here next season?

We could pull off the impossible and stay up, I still wouldn't want him near our club next season.

There was effort today, yes and that last 15 was enjoyable after weeks of what has been the worst period I’ve ever experienced (in football terms) as a Leicester fan but boy were there issues.

There were multiple moves where basic organisation was missing. One that sticks out to me was in the second half when when Minteh had the entire side to himself. Mavididi lost him. I think Thomas was no where to be seen. The left centre back had no idea. I had no idea how he didn’t score. I have no idea how they didn’t score multiple times.

He’s added nothing to us. In fact he’s taken us back significantly. We are going to finish on and around 20 points and that, even with this squad is disgraceful. He should’ve been gone weeks ago. No way can he be our manager next year. No way.

Spot on, yesterday’s draw should celebrated as some kind of corner turning effort wise…. Brighton were wasteful  it seems, and could have buried us comfortably with a better attack. This is the worst version of Leicester city I have ever seen, and Ruud (along with Top, Rudkin and Susan and some of the playing squad) are responsible. It’s staggering Ruud still has a job, we sacked Cooper for doing a better one……

Extremely embarrassing for him that the players he's largely frozen out were the ones to score yesterday.

I know it's not that simple but it's yet another black mark for him.

Let's get confirmed as relegated and get someone competent in with a few games to work with the squad ahead of a full pre season and transfer window.

I'm actually feeling fairly optimistic ahead of next season as I suspect the players he has frozen out both won't find new clubs and will be more than good enough for the Championship.

Combine this with players like Nelson, Alves, Evans and Monga being phased into the side with dross like Faes, Soumare and others being moved on, and a decent, sustainable team could await.

We’re not going to appoint a new permanent manager before the end of the season. Most decent candidates will be in a job and will be highly unlikely to walk out on their clubs at this stage of the season.

There is no chance Monga is here next season unfortunately.

Perhaps not, but a decent and quick appointment might persuade him that he has a chance of first team football here next season instead of chasing the bright lights, potentially being one of many talented youngsters who gets lost in the system and ends up signing his first professional contract with Chesterfield in three years.

It has to be someone who demonstrably champions youth and pledges to bring them through. In fact, I would make that a prerequisite of the job. It's no coincidence for me that our worst season in a decade has also been the season where academy products have been most chronically underused.

There's something seriously wrong with Ruud.

If that was me and we had managed to get a draw, score two goals and play relatively after all the rubbish this year I would be, at least, cracking a smile.

He's either deluded, been hoodwinked by the management or he's guaranteed to stay. Either way he talks as if he'll be here.

Ruud van Nistelrooy explains new Leicester City priority as players set Championship task
The manager gives his thoughts after his side ended their goalless and losing runs with a 2-2 draw at Brighton, Stephy Mavididi and Caleb Okoli getting the goals at the Amex

Leicester City have “changed course” with greater importance now given to preparing for next season in the Championship, Ruud van Nistelrooy has admitted.

City put an end to their losing run by twice battling back to draw at Brighton, but the point is not enough to give them hope of a survival miracle.

If Wolves win their next two games, against Tottenham and Manchester United, City will be relegated before they kick off against Liverpool.

Van Nistelrooy abandoned the back-five system and made three changes to his 11 at the Amex Stadium, with two of those fresh faces on the scoresheet, Stephy Mavididi ending the long goal drought and Caleb Okoli heading in a late equaliser.

The change of system and change of personnel were partly with a view to next season, van Nistelrooy said, with players now tasked with showing they want to remain at the King Power Stadium. It’s why teenagers Jake Evans and Bade Aluko were included in the squad too.

That change in approach led to greater fight in the display, earning City their first point since January.

Van Nistelrooy said: “It was an excellent performance where two cycles have been broken, thank God, on the goals and on the result. It was a spirited performance and it was a performance I like to see.

“We haven’t seen enough of it over the past weeks. I think the Chelsea performance was the last one. The others, we weren’t able to compete.

“We talked a lot on how to move forward with the six or seven games, how to use them, how we want to break the cycles. Today was a great reaction from the players.

“It’s very clear (there was more fight). We talked a lot about how to break a negative cycle, because when you’re in there, you think it’s never going to end.

“It starts with changing your behaviour. You have to act now, you can’t wait in difficult moments, in adversity. You can’t wait for something to change, you have to start acting. We spoke about it a lot.

“We also spoke about how to use the next six weeks for the absolute benefit of every individual in the squad to prepare in the best way possible for the next season, without stopping the fight until it’s mathematically over.

“That’s including new players in the squad, shaping the future in that way. It’s a change of course since the Newcastle game and is definitely the way forward if I look at this performance today.”

Mavididi was the spark behind the performance, the winger determined and full of intent as he dribbled at the Brighton defence. He lashed in City’s first goal in 789 minutes too.

“He was excellent,” van Nistelrooy said. “He showed he wants to play for this club, he wants to fight for this club, like Kasey McAteer. Those are the players with these kinds of performances that you’re building on, shaping the future.

“That is the most important to help the players develop. They’re young, they’re talented, they’re gifted. Whatever happens this season, there’s a new season and that’s the focus for now.”

"It was an excellent performance"

It wasn't, it was still defensively poor, we just had to actually have a period of time where we were the better side.

It was a close to average performance, it just shows how far we've dipped under that level since we played Brighton at home (Spurs away aside)

I think he  genuinely believes he will be with us next season and has zero intention of leaving. It will come down to whether the club sees it the same way.

It's all PR bollox.

He has to pretend to say the right things and think he will still be at the helm.

Even our dogsh1te board cant tolerate the succession of unimaginable  drivel dished out week after week by this fraud.

I'd love him to be honest...

" I knew this club was shit when I signed but thought it would be a laugh to come her and see the circus first what it really is.

Cant believe  some of the fucztards who think they are good and the primadonnas.

Some of these signings  even I wouldn't have signed if I was in League  one which is where i should be.

I've done my best to get the sack, but the Board are as sh1t as me and have no bollox.

I'm just saying what my PR twat Anthony tells me to say, but in reality I cant wait for the last game.

I'll be out on holiday as quickly as you can say " Vestergaards dog needs walking".

I'll be sitting in my holiday villa waiting for that smug pr2ck Rudkin to sack me, pay me off and I'm done with this shitshow.

To think they hired me only because I beat this team twice at United who ain't much better than this!"

I wonder what happens for example if the instruction to play a certain way and use certain players like Faes is actually from a higher level. Maybe things are different with a different DOF

Any manager worth his salt would tell the DOF to f off and ignore him.

Ruud like many of his predecessors talk absolute nonsense at press conferences.

I’m hoping that his actions like not going to the traveling fans, playing Monga when previously saying, “It was too soon” are better indicators that he knows his time is nearly up.

He clearly has not been told he’s leaving yet. Neither does he want to leave because his best chance of reviving his reputation is turning things around with us and leaving with his head held high. RVN will not walk - he will only leave if Top sacks him, and he probably hasn’t made his mind up about that yet.

Couldn’t find a thread for Kasey so posting here

how did he suddenly come in from the cold to start the game?  Is Ruud running out of players who want to play for him?

I can’t remember last time Kasey was on the pitch for any reasonable time

whilst he may have limitations he stood out for his continued effort and aggression. Something we’ve massively lacked all season
