I remember the days of Frank Mclintock.

Not as bad as going 9 consecutive games without scoring at home. Van Nistelrooy stands alone.

I've said before and will say again that this needn't be an impediment to getting him out ASAP. Stick him on gardening leave and get a pre-contract agreement in place with his replacement. RVN out and the new guy in on July 1st.

That led to a lot of speculation over Van Nistelrooy’s future at the King Power Stadium. Sky Sports reported this week that there is doubts that the manager will remain at Leicester beyond the season, with the club already drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements.

Speaking in a post-match interview when asked if he has been spoken to about his position at the club, Van Nistelrooy told Sky Sports “I’m still waiting.

He added: “I said in the press conference last week leading into the Wolves game that I spoke with the board and the chairman but already for months, I’ve taken the initiative to do so, to explain how things are going, so they are aware of the situation, how I think and how I see things. Now it’s a matter of the alignment that I always speak about and it’s a matter of being patient and waiting.”

When asked if he really wants to stay, he said: “Internally, the club know where I stand and where I see the future of this football club, so yes, I see a future. But the most important thing is to be on the same page of course.”

The Dutchman also told TalkSPORT that he is “hoping for the interests of the club” that a decision about his future is made “the sooner the better.”

Absolutely agree with this.  Being deducted a few points next season is of no consequence compared with the long term health of the club.  We would soon recoup those points with decent football management, organisation and personnel at the club anyway.

It largely depends on finances from there. Even if we bin off RVN with a severance package and pay compo to Sheffield Wednesday in the same window, we'll be selling a player or two and getting big wages (not least Vardy's £140k a week) off the books as well. Make some smart purchases and it might not be a financial shitshow.

He’s somehow created a system that means there is never any midfielders within 40 yards of the striker when we attack, but also always about 40 yards in front of the defender when we are out of possession.

Is it even a debate any more, Peter Taylor or Ruud Van Nistelcrap?

Win percentages:

Tater Peeler: 35%
Ruub: 13%

I’m not a legal expert, but wouldn’t surprise me if there’s doubts over whether it would be legal. It could depend if he had anything in his contract about gardening leave and even then, it might have to be mutual.

It looks quite doable from a legal POV.

That’s all about Dan Ashworth who was joining another club. That’s the standard gardening leave. RVN isn’t joining a competitor.

I think from my very limited knowledge there’s something about ‘right to work’ so if the employee is placed on gardening leave, they could take it to court and say they wanted to work. The employer would then have to prove they had a legal reason to place them on gardening leave. In Ashworth’s case, organising the transfers of staff for a rival club would be a legitimate (and fairly standard) reason. I’m guessing ‘to not pay him off until July because we don’t want to’ would not be looked on favourably by a court as a legitimate reason.

Post match today he told Sky Sports that no one from the club has even spoken to him about his future. I’m not even sure of what we are anymore. Dead club.

People actually shill for this lot. I'll be able gladly to say that I didn't actively cheer on the demise of this club like many have done, but it won't make it any more tolerable. Sometimes I wish I was as dim as these people.

I'd tell RVN that we intend to honour his contract and for him start planning for next season...

If that threat doesn't make him quit, then we'll just have to pay him off I guess... 😉

So just to conclude. Anyone remember the 3 box 3 debate when he first joined. Some were in favour, some not so much. Most, like me had no clue what it is.

After much deliberation. Still not entirely sure what it is. However, I’m sure we can all agree, the 3 box 3 is complete shit.

What I want to know is what’s wrong with good old fashioned 442
