Aggregate industries, Ibstock Brick and Breedon Group are all massive in the quarrying sector and from Leicestershire and have their HQ here.

Next is a big retail success even in the current market.

Barratt are the largest home builders in the country too. We have a pretty strong construction sector central location and no designated green belt help.

you are all basically listing my old Business Development List from when I was in Agency Recruitment. lol

You've missed Davidson Homes though which is Headquartered in Ibstock.

Yes, although that is from the David Wilson Homes buyout which is a Leicester company. Davidsons now build over 1000 houses a year and is based in the same office.

Bloor Homes is from Hinckley and builds 5000 or so houses a year. Funnily enough, J Bloor also owns Triumph Motorcycles which are now manufactured in Hinckley.

They’re not at the same office.

Bloor is Measham, not Hinckley. Good story though, left school at 15 and now worth over a billion

Davidsons are in Wilson House which was the address of DWH before the buyout I believe.

Every space mission (I'm assuming Western) since the 70s has featured kit manufactured in Leicestershire. Not sure which companies but it's something I think about a lot.

I'm guessing that was connected with the wonderful old Marconi site on scudamore road.

And more recently components and entire robotic missions out there have been conceived and designed at the University of Leicester Space Research Centre

I did a tour at the space research centre and it's to do with the lenses and mirrors being made here. In the early 1900s it was a big industry here apparently.
