I understand where you're coming from but I've always been a bit confused by this criticism.

There was some gold on the home shirt but blue and white were hardly banished from the club's identity. I'd say the home kit was predominantly blue/white, away kit black/white, 3rd kit white/blue.

(If King Power wanted to rebrand us gold instead of blue/white they wouldn't have made the home kit sponsor in massive white letters! :D)

Lots to criticise King Power for but I really don't think they've 'goldwashed' the club's identity...

The sash from the early/mid 00s really was smart as..

This board deserve the bin for 21/22 and 22/23's kits alone, unforgivably bad across the board!!!!!

I think you're wrong. We absolutely have gold because of them. It's just coincidental we've had it before. Likewise, us having the all yellow kit was to replicate the Thai national team. It was anything to do with having yellow in the 90s for instance.

You only need to look at how they've ignored anything pre King Power to know it isn't them acknowledging anything from our past.

Again, I accept this stuff isn't exactly anything you'd be mad at on it's own. But nothing has been about embracing Leicester City. It's to embrace King Power and Thailand under the name Leicester City. That's what it's always been.

Several kits were all blue with gold trim, no white trim (shorts not shown on that graphic). The year we won the league being one example.

I didn’t say they banished white completely , but they did reduce it in favour of the gold, which has been more or less a constant fixture to the extent where it could be viewed as our secondary colour. I’ve seen many people claiming metallic gold is now part of the club’s identity, that it’s associated with success, that they are, no joke, actually ‘nostalgic’ about it.

Also I see people often get confused and say ‘we had gold before them’. Well, we had that ‘Fosse Gold’ on one away kit, which was basically beige. We’ve had a beautiful goldy yellow trim / away kit in the 90s as a one off, which still featured white. This specific metallic gold, however, was completely invented by King Power, and it’s often replaced white instead of just accompanying it.

I haven't been through the pages. So you may have seen it already. But this is very interesting and worrying in equal measure. This guy seems to know his stuff

Having watched that, the club are in serious chance of going into administration, if we are relegated.

Everyone should listen to that, the wages we were paying were astronomical. The King Power brand won’t be able to bail us out for too long, if at all. The amount Seagrave is costing it’s become a financial liability.

The club could well fold if relegated, I didn’t realise how desperate things are.

Just had a terrifying vision of Aiyawatt and a horde of Thai influencers parading round Wembley after we’ve just beaten Crawley in the Papa Johns trophy

Are you sure we’d beat Crawley🙈

I posted on FT the other day (possibly this very thread) that I do wonder if the only explanation for the chaos at LCFC is that the owners are doing it on purpose.

That isn't altogether impossible, though I think there is an equally devastating possibility.

They just don't care now.

Despite the financial and emotional cost over the last 10 odd years, these fellas are billionaires. We are just a toy now.

The wealthy might as well live on a different planet to the rest of us. I realised this the other day when watching a documentary on rich folk who hirer or indeed own, their own aircraft.

One fella hires a luxury helicopter to fly to his favourite Pizza restaurant, collect his pepperoni and then fly it to his mansion. No one, apart from the pilot and the pizza, are on board.

This particular fella was 'only' a millionaire as well, not billions like our absent owner.

What's your theory behind that thought?

Not sure why they'd purposefully

a) Do this to what they consider to be Vichai's legacy

b) Ruin and devalue an asset of theirs?

Interested to hear how you got to that possibility haha.

Maybe Top actually hated his father and this is his revenge on him.

This is purely a theory and should not be treated as me saying with confidence that Top hated his father

Haha! My mind also went to "the family secretly hated Vichai" funnily enough, at least it's a theory

With regards to b. As I mentioned in the post, money is just a plaything to many of the filthy rich.

Re a, they may think that King Power is their fathers legacy not just, or even, LCFC.

I only wondered on these two possibilities (Doing it on purpose or simply don't care) because they are the only reasons that fit the poor, and repetitively terrible decisions made at LCFC.

They may have had good intentions after the helicopter crash but quickly realised they weren't up to it and just let things 'go' thereafter.

I feel like it's mainly that he's not that arsed. He's clearly out of his depth and he's letting another guy who's well out of his depth. If he was genuinely interested and passionate about the job and club then he'd be making much more of an effort.

I got told to calm down and support the team by a fan the other day, apparently this is just a “phase”.

I meant in the football league and who'd be our L1 relegation rivals..

Well based on the fact you've said if Lincoln go up, you could see Notts County and Chesterfield both potentially in League One

Mental gymnastics to avoid the idea Top is just an idiot?

From KP's perspective the club clearly isnt a priority and they may have decided pumping money into it is a worser evil than letting it devalue, certain assets like the stadium and Seagrave lands probably maintain value regardless of sporting success as well.  The club outside of those assets already probably isnt worth much.  Lots of liabilities like the pay day loans, and squad.

If it was a priority I think Top would have been removed as chairman.
