In 2013 they converted £100m of LCFC debt to equity, which is what a lot of KP fans bang on about, then theres Aiyawatt doing the same in 2023 with £179m, but that debt self made, thats not generosity, its just business. 

I dont think their family/thai/respect thing does us any favours, its football a ruthless business. 

Pearson/walsh/shakey, deffo a major part of our success, it was up to them to take that success, and use it to give us more, but they failed in that respect, they underestimated the work involved i think, thought the hard yards had been done.

Business has to constantly evolve, it seemed to me they just thought they had to replicate what they'd done, signing similar players to our previous successful ones - Souttar/Maguire, Mahrez/Ghezzel, Mendy/Kante, Moussa/Vardy to name a few.  

Seagrave just way over the top, and could be the rock that sinks us, or has us humiliated as its sold or leased to our local rivals. All in all they've meant we'll but have been found out i think

At this point I'd take almost any level of pain to be shot of KP. (That said, I do feel for any non-playing employees of the club who are not KP's stooges, sycophants or active enablers.)

I know you are angry with KP situation but please give credit to Vichai. I guess you were not complaining on 2.5.16 (when Chelsea pulled back to draw with Spurs) for one of the greatest sporting achievements  and I would be surprised if you were not affected by his death on 27.10.18. 

 

He allowed us, and every football fan,  to dream  that anything was possible against the riches of the top clubs. He donated to many causes in Leicester, including as I remember £2m to a hospital and £1m to university medical department.

 

I agree about current KP regime, but please give Vichai credit for his achievements with the club, and, yes, that includes the appointments of NP and CR.

What did he actually do though? He put in a bit of money and was fortunate Pearson built a great structure and identity/ethos going back to the previous league 1 debacle. The Raneri appointment was pure luck initially, he was the right man to put the cherry on top of the cake, it wasn’t a dilberate act. After that we had no real plan, Puel did ok with players, but had awful football, initially Rodgers brought a brand of football that was more entertaining. Then the Liverpool game on Boxing Day, the wheels fell off, and never really got reattached. There has never really been good management which can be expected from business people used to operating in corruption. They picked and backed the wrong PE teacher in Rudkin, he will actually destroy this club, it’s almost as if it’s dilberate at this point.

Well allegedly, even if KP refuse to fund the club any further, he’s going to use his personal wealth to do it. But you’re right, that’ll only go on so long. But I just think we are looking at years still under him sadly.

I don't think there was 276 pages of KP out under Vichai. If, as I guess you do, want KP to sell the club, I presume you cannot mind who a new owner (punter in your view) is. To take a current example, I suggest that Reynolds and McElhenney have made a huge difference to Wrexham (and the local town). Of course, it is more than a chairman/owner but thy run club and appoint manages, ultimately recruit players

I want KP gone, whether they have the luxury of "selling" us or not. They've poisoned our club; ripped the soul out of it. Step by step purged all character and history to the point where we're little better than a KP shrine. (I mean you're STILL giving it "RIP Vishai" like he knew any of us!) They've fostered the most passionless, supine fanbase in history...believe it or not we have not always been that way! I have no fear of change, why would I? 

 

Yes they can f**k right off and I will happily never see them again for dust. And yes I'm a bit cross

 

On reflection this is a long way of saying I support Leicester, *not* KP or any other owners we have had now or (hopefully) in the future

With hindsight you can look back and see the shoots of lots of bad things under Vichai but it's embarrassingly disingenuous to say that he was a crap owner. Might well have relied on a lot of luck but he still did get Pearson back in and allow him to build the culture he wanted and I do think he has more business smarts and clearly was a good man manager of people, in a way Top isn't. Vichai is a massive part of our success and it wasn't just the football things with him, but lots of decent off-field aspects that were good (again, even if some bits were getting worse). Top's tenure however, should be completely separated. He definitely benefitted from the work before him to get that early success and has done nothing but squander that since

Sadly, we've allowed an almost Soviet level cult of personality to develop around Vichai since his death where myths have been repeated so many times they've become fact, myths that now apply to Aiyawatt as well. Far too much of the fanbase think that critisism of Aiywatt or King Power is critisism of Vichai as well, which isn't allowed.

 

They never 'made us sing that' or 'allowed us to dream' as is so often repeated. The entire reason 15/16 is the greatest story in football history is that we did it without spending a massive amount, even Mike Ashley would have been willing to spend the 23m it took to build the starting 11 that year. Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh built that team, a trio that were here before King Power. He gets far too much individual credit. Vichai didn't pick the tactics or select the team, he didn't score 2 at the Etihad or score 11 in a row. 

 

People rightfully point out the absurd bus of Thai influencers when we won the championship, but the way they made 15/16 about them was disgusting as well. We would still be taking the piss out of Man City now if Sheikh Mansour was on the pitch after that QPR game, taking the trophy from Aguero and Mancini and waving a portrait of a UAE prince at the crowd. Vichai holding the trophy is the first picture next to the home dressing room in the tunnel, not a picture of the team that actually won the thing.

 

The donations, while appreciated, are nowhere near the level to still be hearing about them 10 years later.  Ignore the fact he was gifted a monopoly due to his connections to the Thai king, I'm sure it's nothing.

 

The love for Vichai effects the way people talk about Aiyawatt. Vichai is the greatest owner of all time, the dear leader can't possibly have an incompetent son. It must be the Premier League or the Football League's fault Aiywatt can't run a club instead. They talk about how he ruined 'his fathers club'. It was never his club, they are just the current custodians of a club that existed for 120+ years before they took over.

 

The club is dying because most of the fanbase were happy for a once proud club to become a shrine to a retail group.

I wouldn't have so much of an issue with all the credit for the success if they owned the failure or the main components of the success were given proper recognition. I don't hear John Elsom given a heap of credit for the League Cup win in 2000.
