Looks that way. For a while I thought we were destined to be the new Stoke or Swansea, formerly "established" Premier League team now treading water in the Championship for the foreseeable - that's beginning to feel optimistic. While the squad gets worse year on year and the same failures are allowed to keep on failing without any suggestion whatsoever of accountability or repurcussions, hard to see how the current trajectory doesn't continue.

I think this could be somewhere between Portsmouth and Bury now. A genuinely extraordinary situation.

You know there are real deep issues when the away fans, less than a game and a half into the season are singing” we’re shit and we know we are”. Plain as day on the telly.

Problem with that, is it isnt aimed at the owner and DoF, thats more aimed at the players and manager.

Agree that we blew it and it was probably a once in a lifetime chance to change things. But I disagree that somebody with deep pockets wouldn't buy us. We gained a global profile from winning the league, got to the CL quarters, followed it up with an FA Cup in between breaking up the 'top 6' for 2 years in a row, then you've got Seagrave on top of that. With an upgraded stadium plan in place, this would be a massive opportunity for lots of potential owners. Unfortunately, the impact that mega rich owners can have is now limited. You'd need it to be a high profile individual with lots of connections to drive up sponsorship income.

Only selling point of Seagrave is a new owner would likely sell it quickly (or at least part of it to shrink it down), so is a quick means of cash.  Its probably the first thing I would review on buying the club.  Its only value is it will attract youngsters.  It has no value for first team squad.

Don't understand comments like this. Why couldn't we attract new owners? Why are we a less attractive proposition than Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Wolves or  Forest or others were when their current owners took over?

They either look for an established EPL big boy.  Or for a club on the cheap with potential.  We are far from bottoming out, and wont be cheap to buy.

Give me the team KP inherited over this side all day long. We’re actually worse off than we were when they bought us, if you add the inevitable -9 into the mix from their persistent **** ups, we’re in the relegation zone.

We’re a lower half championship side with bank loans and no parachute/tv rights money anymore, at least we were somewhat financially stable with Milan.

Accomplishments are irrelevant, we wouldn’t be here if Vichai was still alive. So don’t come at me with the be grateful for them bollocks, because this wouldn’t have happened under his watch, simple as that.

If you thought 2004-2009 was bad, you just wait and see what Top serves up before he’s done here.

Well said Phil !!

Aiyawatt is nowhere near his worst yet !
More decline on the way for sure !

Seagrave might not even be that big an asset to flog in the event of a purchase anyway. It's shiny, but it's in a shite, relatively inaccessible part of the county that's away from most of the county's main transport arteries (M1, M69, A50). It's not exactly easy to show off if you're the owner, even if they fly into EMA there's a half-hour (on a good day) trek through country lanes or the Nottingham ring road to reach it. And that's before even mentioning the death trap of a junction it's accessed from - I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a member of staff or the playing squad involved in a smash there eventually.

It's no more accessible than Belvoir Drive is, the only difference is it's remote enough to shield the match-side staff from scrutiny. I doubt anybody coming in would view that as a reasonable expense given it's had zero benefit either on the pitch or in terms of non-football income. On the latter point, I'm making an assumption, but besides pre-season / academy games is there anything whatsoever at Seagrave that forms a revenue stream for the club? Stuff like that daft Abdul documentary always happens at the ground - because, surprise surprise, people can't or won't drive to a field near Sileby for those sorts of things.

Which is the point I guess. It's a bubble away from the fanbase where they don't have to hear hurty words or face dissent. As evidenced by the fact that, despite all the talk, we've yet to see a single fan show up to protest or unfurl the much-vaunted Rudkin Out banner in the bush opposite. People can't even be arsed to do it at the ground, they aren't going to drive there to do it.

Granted, maybe someone coming in with at least three braincells dedicated to business acumen could find a way to generate some cash from the site without selling it, but as it stands it's just a white elephant that A) clearly doesn't attract the top talent it was claimed to, B) has delivered zero positives on the pitch and C) is in a shite, out of the way location that has already caused friction with certain players (Harry's refusal to take 40 Winks?) The only potential buyers that would appeal to would be similar shady characters who would prefer the unwashed masses know nothing about them or the way they run things.

Saying too big a file for here, i’m sure it will crop up later today.

I'm sure there's other ways to reduce file size but I have WhatsApped pictures to another phone they then return it to me and viola, file size is reduced and FT accepts it.

Didn't know whether to put this in here or the Norwich away thread but is the best route for protests away games at the moment? Easier to get banners in etc cause I feel like they'll be all over banners at home games at the moment. Where as at away games don't think stewards will be as bothered.
