Played well with good application for the most part but we looked really poor in the final third and Man City looked generally quite uninterested.

Best opportunity to beat them ever.

Thought the players deserved more from us during the game.

Not a convo it was like a love fest, it wasnt what i was expecting when were in the relegation zone, and playing a team that everyone is doing well against, and we again are the ever obliging leicester

Daka / haarland will be their time at Salzburg when they were both winning

A really good performance despite the result.

The development and progression under Ruuds coaching was their to see today.

We have to back him in the January transfer window and get the deals done early.

Ideally i'd like to see us bring in two attacking full backs and potentially a right winger who likes to take his defender on.

Behave.

It’s a fair comment though. Man City were no where near pressing as much as they usually do (which is super human) but also, I don’t think our midfield will have as much time as they did today next week for example.

Foden just put in the worst individual performance I've seen from an opposition player all season.

I was so angry when Pep decided he'd seen enough and put McAtee on, Foden was pure dogwater

We need a new cb and rb as soon as the window opens on 1st Jan. if they **** about like they do every Jan, forget it for this year.

Definitely a RB.

When is Ricardo coming back?

Daka having quite a long convo with Haaland, while Winks having quite a convo with Pep. Wonder what's that all about lol.

Daka and Haaland are you ex team mates from Austria. Winks talking football.

Like most games this season, I was dreading it, no matter the opposition.

Another goal conceded from the right side with Justin oblivious (Stolarczyk should have parried it better though!) and Kristansen over committing on McAtee although it was a decent cross from Savinho for Haaland.

With all that said, I thought that was the best we have played this season and it’s another game closer to the transfer window opening and we need some decent reinforcements. We huffed and puffed and deserved more, few chances that looked easier to score than miss!

On to Villa

Are people seriously blaming Justin for not being closer for the 1st? That was quite literally an 0.02xG shot from Foden and should have been comfortably dealt with.

I like Stolarczyk, he's looked decent in the games he's played but he's very inexperienced, like McAteer. Ward MAYBE saves that, but we would already be 0-2 down...

So yeah, thanks Rudkin for not getting rid of Ward, Iversen and loaning out Stolarczyk and getting a PL competent 2.

Played some decent football at times and even  though we lost I can see a few green shoots appearing . It was never going to be easy to stay up  as newly promoted teams always struggle plus  losing Enzo didn’t help . Hopefully Mads is back soon and we manage to get a right back .

I felt that was our best performance of the season, especially for the first hour.

Saw an actual plan, some lovely patters of play and we troubled them a lot.

I don’t accept this talk about them being out of form, they not lost to anyone in the bottom 8 I don’t think. They beat us with one mistake, and then one bit of quality.

I was happy with the performance today, it’s given me hope, with some good business in January, it could vastly improve us, I don’t think we’re too far away from about there. The most infuriating aspect of the game is Wolves, that ****ing game….. it’s killed us, and wolves have been gifted three basket case teams to gain some momentum against.

Still, it’s not over, we’ve shown in the last two there’s something there, I’m a damn site more positive now than I was before the game, just still furious about that Wolves game.

Bilal was exceptional today, absolute belter.

And finally,

WILL ALVES WHOOOOA WILL ALVES WHOOOOA HES GOT A SPANISH NAME BUT COMES FROM SAFRON LANE.

Don't think I've ever been happier leaving the ground after a loss. Play like that and you beat alot of teams in this league.

Need to play like that vs the rubbish.

Quite.

If we have that lineup and put in that performance at home against Southampton, Ipswich, Brentford or Palace, there's no doubt in my mind we get three points.

Agreed, and some might say we weren't clinical, but I thought we more than matched them ... just didn't get the breaks.  If we can play with that commitment from hereon then I think we have a chance of avoiding the drop.

Hard to judge the performance because Man City have been so poor recently, El Khannous was excellent, Soumare has been good recently but we desperately need a defence.

Coady has to be dropped for Okoli, who should play along side Vesty for his passing ability and composure on the ball.

Unfortunately whilst Vesty is good on the ball, he's too slow for the Premier league.

I would like a new RB, a faster version of Vesty and a RW in January.

How's Justin given Savinho so much space? Literally completely left him.

Another one to the many Justin has cost us.

He's going to be Ward levels of responsible for our incoming relegation.

Or we were actually good playing out and beating their press as we did multiple times? Their press is good but we done well.

We played well today and deserved something from the game. Play like that back end of the season with a few additions and we stay up.

I hope you’re right. I really do. Next week at Villa where they do press with more intensity will tell.
