Had a go but ultimately not good enough to punish them.

We hit the post and created a couple of good chances. So on another day we could have had a couple ourselves. I don’t think today is a game to be frustrated with, it just makes the Wolves game seem even worse.

I know JJ has been getting some deserved stick for his performances over the past 18 months or more, I agree with the majority of it but watching some of the goals conceded this season he drops into the central defensive positions to cover the glaringly obvious pace problems that we have with our centre backs.

the 2 cbs seem to mark 1 man in defensive areas regardless of the number of attacking players around, that seems to suck JJ into the central area and this exposes his side of the pitch, as invariably the distance between him and the attacking wide player is too great.

Some of the most electric, out of your seat moments last season were both Fatawu and Mavididi running at their opposition fullbacks, skinning them on both the inside and outside and terrifying them all game.

Mavididi seems to have lost this completely from his game and thinks that doing 4-5 ‘shimmies’ or step overs and completely slowing the game down will have the same impact. It’s so frustrating and I don’t know whether it’s confidence or lack of quality but RVN needs to insist that he takes on the FB on the outside or pull him out the team for everybody’s sake

But why will nobody pass to him by choice in the attacking third? It is only if there is absolutely no other option on.

What? Most of the passing combinations we did start from him

Loads of huffing and puffing but at the end of the day we are just not good enough and lack quality throughout.

Atleast we tried though.

Very true. The two CB just do not engage at all with the strikers. They drop so deep. Yes Faes made mistakes - lots of them - but at least he tried to do his job.  The  current two sit off so much in an attempt to avoid making mistakes. This pulls everyone else out of position and makes any type of press so ineffectual. Essentially we are playing with two sweepers who like to pass the ball to each other a great deal.

I just don't buy this. I like the lad. Absolute 100%er and never goes hiding.

Prepared to accept the ball under pressure, some nice cross field runs, niggles away at times at De Bruyne and Fidon,  couple of decent overlaps today and a proper Fuchs style cruncher on front of the east stand midway through second half

This is why Football is a game of opinions.

VK splits the fan base. I personally think he's poor. Never wants to use his right foot so passes go behind players and can also lead him into trouble. Gets beaten at the back post a lot and dosen't really do well on the cover. He does however have an engine which is probably his greatest asset.

Gets some love on here because he's a trier but unfortunately for me that doesn't mean he's a good player. However, he's our only option.  2 new centre halfs and a right back is of greater need but the left back position needs sorting for sure.

That’s all well and good, but defensively he’s very weak. Got absolutely mugged off by McAtee in the build up to their second goal.

This is a great take. I've been extremely disappointed with Justin's performances this season, and he deserves a lot of the criticism levelled at him...but you're right, he just has no support. In fact, he's supporting centrally more than he's getting support on the right.

I'm a big fan of Buonanotte, but I can see why we might want a proper right winger on that side to drop back and support when needed.

Even though we lost it’s just so refreshing that we put a more attacking team out , maybe 3rd from bottom but with a couple of signings we’ve a good chance of staying up

Yeah, I came away a bit disappointed but can see potential.

Also he cannot pass the ball

I can appreciate the effort in terms of getting something going in terms of a team approach in today's game but that Wolves game will take a hell of a lot of effort to reverse.  It was really, really damning.

When we go there, we have to win the game.  Otherwise, I don't see us getting out of the top of the bottom 3 positions regardless of what comes in-between.

I thought we did a lot more than huffing and puffing today. We grew into the game and made most of the running second half. We had quality today and we’re deserving of a point at least. As for quality, I’ve doubted too all season but this and the Anfield game has made me rethink, only Mavadidi and the two full backs lacked a bit today and for the first time this season we looked like a premier league outfit.

I thought Mavididi played well today

Do we know if Vardy was offside when put through and fouled by Ortega?

Was Buononotte tripped in the box?

Yeah he was, else it would’ve been a penalty.

Apparently a hand on his shoulder but made to look a lot more theatrical than it was.

Vary one was tight but looked offside, don't think it was a pen either, barely any contact.

Not sure on Buonanotte

Ortega absolutely cleaned him out.
