this is the same villa who had to quickly sell Luiz in the summer or theyd breach PSR/FFP btw

also im not sure they can count Philogene as pure profit to ffp/psr again since they brought him back from hull

as I said i fully expect them to sell a few more this window/summer

He might have not settled, but I’ll repeat what I said to the other poster if you like. I’d question his attitude for wanting to quit a struggling team after only a few months. 
Also the fans of the club involved don’t seem bothered about him leaving. 
 

I know people are desperate to pin anything and everything on the board etc, but not signing a player that hasn’t pulled up any trees at his current club shouldn’t really be one of them.

I did think with the heat actually being turned up, a manager known for being quite demanding (well, willing to fall out with a board) and our situation being this bleak that we might actually try and be different this window.

 

But nope. Same old embarrassing drivel. Shift the goalposts in the public and then fail to deliver. Nobody held to any account.

 

This is by a mile the worst run club in this league and only a handful in the Championship are worse. Any except for Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff?

So if he hasn't settled and is struggling to live in France you'd expect him to stay because the club is struggling. Sure thing

I’d like to see a player give it to the end of the season, unless the club are obviously happy for him to go. Wouldn’t say to me that he’s a player we must sign. 
Always a risk he wouldn’t settle over here too.

I see Bournemouth signed a highly rated young left back for less than we'll paid for Edouard's loan fee + wages as contingency for when they sell Kerkez. This is the exact opposite to us. Prepared for an expected hit. We just never seem remotely prepared for anything ever. Every single window we're scrambling around and panicking. Every ****ing time.

I think you’ll find that Forest will go the same way as we did, I’ve already posted on their current wage structure & how it’s about to be blown out the water just like ours did.

So far they sit in the top 4 well done them but they have not yet finished in the top 4, & like us they are starting to offer new contracts to their existing players as a reward for getting this far and to ward off potential buyers.

Now take Murillo arguably 1 of their most important players, he was sitting on £30kpw but has now signed a new long term contract, his CB partner is on £105kpw & he was being touted as a target for Liverpool..so with those 3 factors how much do you think Murillo is now on?

They are also in negotiations with another 4 current players all of which are currently on around £70kpw so going north of that.

If they were to get Wissa &/or Cunha how much do you think for and how much £kpw it would take, success comes at a price that 13/14 clubs in the league can’t afford.

I'm even more surprised we've not moved heaven and earth to get this guy on a 5 year contract after reading those reviews lol

 

Exactly the kind of player you don't want at your club.

I'd suggest if they were to miss out that they might not be hamstrung by the same blockade we are in that they have no ability to sell players. They shifted Niakhate and Mangala in the summer for £40-50mil. Meanwhile we're still waiting for Soumare to come good. They have a lot more flexibility because they get things done. If they miss out I expect them to sell Murillo in the next 18 months. Possibly Gibbs-White too.

 

Another irony is them now going for Matheus Cunha. I seem to remember us getting a Wolves player in in the equivalent window.

 

I'm saying all this hoping you're right - it's barely believable that they're this far ahead of us this quickly. To think some of our fans wanted them to beat Huddersfield.

Yet not a single one of those is still at the club. Like I say all the wrong people got the credit. This was always eventually going to catch up with us.
