Because I’m not sure how else it could be particularly different? Over Thomas? I mean this, literally anyone. JJ at LB. Okoli at LB. 3 ATB. Faes at LB. Skipp at LB.Hamza at LB. All better options. 2

FoxesBraun Posted 4 January Posted 4 January Their wide players are going to have a field day. Shows how desperate we are when Luke Thomas is starting in 2025 and Justin is the best we have on the right.

Do not accept the text book "tactical decision" and "all will play a part" drivel as a response. The BBC leicester guy did ask RVN after a one of our games why he left facundo on the bench till the last 10 minutes when we needed goals and RVN skirted it by saying he was 5th sub so didn't want to risk going down to 10 men, I suspect RVN knew exactly what the question was getting at. I'm sure there has to be a reason beyond RVNs control

His over all play is dreadful, he does not work hard enough and doesn’t offer enough in terms of an outlet. He has scored a couple of goals, but he just doesn’t offer anything else. Justin will be getting skinned alive again….. 2

Lesta Legend Posted 4 January Posted 4 January 2 minutes ago, LCFCCHRIS said: Are people forgetting ayew has a decent scoring rate for us? Cut the guy some slack. Scored same amount as Facundo but assisted less. So we keep statistically the better player out. If you look at stats Facundo is one of the best forward players in the team Ayew isn’t. Even defensively Facundo is better. For example he’s won the most possession in final 3rd (just ahead of Kasey) out of any player, so we miss his tenacity. I don’t see what we lose by starting Facundo ahead Ayew. The latter isn’t a disaster by any means but the fact he’s starting I don’t see the logic. 3

The Quick Brown Fox Posted 4 January Posted 4 January I don't get why he brings Ayew back in. Buenanotte is by far the better option and played well against Man C. I thought RVN was learning from mistakes, hasn't realised that Ayew slows everything down. 1

Doesn't just slow everything down he puts in zero effort unless the balls at his feet in space around the box. Anything else he just gives up and does a jog around a 5m area thats slower than his walking speed. Edited 4 January by ARTY_FOX 1

Really wanted the front 4 from last week as it gives Villa more to worry about Starting to think Ruud ain’t the guy. Probably picked Ayew cos he scored at Liverpool 😂 1

I think defensively he does okay when playing as an all out FB, but when asked to.support the winger he's not great. I think he's better than some on here give him credit. In our relegation season he had no support from Barnes, Ndidi and tielemens couldnt be arsed and as a result we were often targeted. 1
Dusty Posted 4 January Posted 4 January I sort of understand the Ayew over Facundo decision, i don’t think he suits the wing, he’s not direct enough and him and BEK end up occupying the same spaces. I don’t really rate Ayew and he’s not direct either, but he at least holds the width which gives more balance. 1
