Don't think I've seen someone say you can't criticise our top scorer when our biggest problem is the defence but it might seem odd behaviour.

Almost none of the players that won the league got relegated and there was significant criticism for the players that went down...?

This one seems odd to me. It's a functional stadium, there's worse around, it'll do. There's plans to develop it but they've understandably been slowed down by our current troubles?

 

Brother, you can criticise whatever you want, it's a free ****ing country. In my experience, when the vast majority of people disagree with my opinion that doesn't mean I "can't" give it, just means there's a good chance I'm waffling shit.

I think we're all susceptible at points to going overboard or maybe feeling entitled with some of our comments but I think it can't be understated the position we were in a few years ago, whether it being strengthening after winning the PL title or missing out on opportunities to try to ensure top 4 status in back to back seasons. If you get that right, the trajectory is much much different!

 

However, if/when we go down (and probably don't come back up for a while), I often find myself thinking about our "golden period" and how much we actually achieved. Take all these 'woke' clubs now getting praised by the media i.e Brighton, Bournemouth, hell even Newcastle...they've won BUGGER ALL and will win BUGGER ALL. Someone explain to me logically how especially the former clubs will ever win an FA Cup, they just aren't at the level, squad depth isn't there to rotate and consistently perform in the league, let alone the PL league. 

 

My point is we made the MOST out of our successful era in my opinion, other clubs just have a couple of great seasons they reminisce on where maybe they qualified for Europe in some capacity but never had anything tangible at the end of it! Always worth savoring what we actually accomplished.

Excellent point - it shortens your ambition. Club constantly looking backwards. 

 

I know there's jokes about the club being N.Korea. My own opinion is that the club has been built in the mould of Thai democracy - the have's and have not's. However they have started to remind me of East Germany - this image of how stuff used to be
