All this proves to me, is that after we not the league, we should have never changed our style.

You don’t beat the big boys by mimicking them.

I see people blame the style but it was poor recruitment as much as anything. We had a midfield of Amartey and King in some games.

It was admittedly very hard after Kante but the recruitment wasn't good enough. I'd have been very intrigued to see what we'd done if we'd recruited suitably.

Very True.

The recruitment was awful. We have been hit or miss ever since.

From watching Forest in the last few games they arent winning the league but they'll comfortably finish top 4. They are so organised it's unreal. Only thing stopping it is injuries to a couple of key players.

Or teams wising up and letting them do the attacking, you could see how vulnerable they looked tonight when Liverpool won the ball back and instantly drove forwards after Forest had committed bodies

It's possible they could do it. If they did, hats off to them. It's a tough league and Chris Wood right now is fantastic. Will be tough to beat this Liverpool team over 38 games though.

They had to win tonight to stand even a ghost of a chance imo.

They'll face the same tactics we did in 15-16 where teams sat back against us for fear of being caught on the break, hoping to grind out a 1-0 win or 0-0 draw.

The difference is that we had Mahrez and Vardy, who were world class that season. Their best players are at the back. I can see them struggling for goals a bit in the second half of the season.

Liverpool get at least 83-84 points given their remaining games which would mean Forest would have to get 44 points from 17 games (14 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss), which is not going to happen.

and Kante;

If teams mark Elanga and CHO out the game forest dont look overly threating going forward imo

dont get me wrong forest are doing well and having a good season, but i still think they wont finish top 4

Their 7-2-1 counter attack tactic will come unstuck soon, they’re so boring to watch.

I understand the counter attack option they have adopted because they don’t have the talent to control a game, but once they drop a few games that crowd will turn on them, you can tolerate it if you get results, the moment you don’t it’s unwatchable.

Quite relieved. They won't win it. Think they had to win that to win the league.

They'll get top 4 comfortably though. Chelsea and Man City are both miles off it. Arsenal are possibly the same. I wonder if both them and Newcastle will do it.

Forest's best Asset is they work extremely hard, Wheras we had quality throughout our Team.

I suspect the first half of the season is going to play more to their strengths than the second. Everyone had a pop at them, they defended brilliantly, worked like trojans and then thumped everyone on the break. We did pretty much the same thing with Kantè, Huth and Morgan being near impenetrable at times but we also had lethal pace to hit them on the break.

In the second half of the season, teams sat back a bit more and tried to work us out that way. If they do the same to Forest, I suspect they find it a bit more difficult. With the best will in the world, Elanga and Wood are not Mahrez and Vardy at their pomp.

Chelsea are having a slump. Man City have pretty much had theirs. Newcastle fans wanted Howe gone earlier this season. They're all in touching distance of Forest, who are yet to have a wobble.

As soon as they do, it'll only take one or two of them to be on form to pounce.

I don't think they'll win it but, for me, it's nice to see Chris Wood having some success. He's been moved from pillar to post. He has kept going. Seems an honest sort of player.

I expect he is extremely wealthy too.

Our spine was world-class that season.

Schmeichel in the form of his life, Huth and Morgan with a telepathic partnership, Kante as the best CDM in the world that season and the aforementioned Mahrez-Vardy partnership. Not to mention the sheer work rate from 1-11.

Forest's world-class players are probably Murillo, Milenkovic and Sels at a push. All defensive. Once teams sit back like they did against us, they won't have enough to unlock them as consistently as we did.

I really liked him when he was here, and I've always hoped he'd have a good career, but if he could break his leg for a bit now I'd be fine with that.

Wasn’t exactly holding back in the celebrations against us
