It’s gonna be similar to 2021 next week, mark my words

Predicting a dramatic return for Latifi and Massi to win Max a title?

But, in all seriousness, the action of the last couple of weeks doesn't just speak "contrived drama for clicks and engagement", it screams it.

So if my brain is working here is what each driver needs to be WDC next week assuming they win the final race.

Lando = Wins final race, champion. Can finish as low as 5th(416 points) provided Max finishes 2nd (414 points)

Max = Wins final race (421 points), Lando finishes P3 (421 points) - Tied on points, but Max has 8 wins to Lando's 7, Max WDC

Oscar = Wins final race (417), Lando finishes 5th (412) Max finishes 2nd (414)

BBC saying Lando P3 wins it no matter. Can't be arsed to work it out myself, but he's still got to be favourite. Making a pigs ear of it.

Probably shouldn't have got the DQ in Vegas lads...

Yeah P3 is enough no matter what Max or Piastri do

Maximum points that Max can get is 421

Norris is on 408 - 2nd gets 18, 3rd gets 15

Move on Antonelli is massive as the top 3 on paper are so far ahead of everyone else

How the hell are they not pitting under a safety car at a track where you can’t overtake?! It’s madness and it’s completely ****ed Piastri over. Even if they double stack Lando is probably still finishing 3rd

Turns out my brain wasn’t working. I thought Lando was on 406 not 408 🤣 yeah if he comes 3rd he wins!

25, 18 then 15 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

408 - Lando + 15 = 423

396 - Max + 25 = 421

As I mentioned above, Lando getting 4th has turned out to be huge.

Edited my response at the same time you posted, went back through my chat with friends and saw the mistake, I screenshotted skys “as it stands” graphic just before Kimi had his moment. So I was doing the maths based on Lando having 406 points not 408. So yeah, I’m an idiot

Fairly confident that McLaren not pitting today was an attempt to not show favouritism towards either driver. Ironically as a result they ended up screwing them both over.

After Abu Dhabi I never want to hear the term ‘papaya rules’ again.

It was either pit both or neither in their mind and went for the wrong option .

Notice Kimi could well finish above Hamilton now in the final standings.

I can totally see a situation where Verstappen is winning with Norris in fourth and Piastri in between them... That would certainly bring shades of '21 where the boot is on the other foot.
