Joke of a 'sport'.

Nah - this sort of regulation is what sport unfortunately IS these days.  It made it less of a game and more of a competition at the end, though :P

That ending unfortunately ruined what was a very enjoyable and entertaining race .

This is why they called it .

Norris dominate but there was all sorts going on behind him and what an outstanding drive by Ollie Bearman.

Think Verstappen and Oscar might be fairly satisfied  in the end though .

Might be a heated debrief at Mercedes and did Verstappen get away without punishment when Hamilton was ?

Why is Norris getting booed ?

Not his fault the ending was cut short.

I read somewhere he made some unsavoury remarks about Perez a few years ago. Also, everyone on the internet has been sayinf for months that McLaren favour him over Oscar, so, as ridiculous as that sounds, it probably explains the booing.

Fair play to Lando. Been sensational all weekend.

He also will have noted that the escape road leads to more time lost so forcing Lewis down there makes it even easier for him.  He will have deliberately made this move, no doubt.

No-one forced Hamilton down the escape road. He outbraked himself trying to take the position back down the outside of T3 and locked up all on his own.

I'm usually Max's biggest critic, but he made the apex in T1 on his move against Lewis fair and square. Lewis collided with Max on the exit trying to squeeze him back.

A very dangerous act and lucky escape for a Marshall here .

I definitely feel that the double waved yellow doesn't have enough impact on drivers speeds. The rule is be prepared to stop yet drivers go flying through those zones with only a token lift off, same as single yellows.

I think that the double yellow section should be timed like under a VSC, and anyone going into it has a delta to adhere to until the green flag afterwards. With no overtaking allowed and a 5s penalty for going too quickly.

Also, another suggestion. Increase the DRS gap from 1s to 1.5s to encourage earlier engagement and more overtaking.

Problem with that is it would just end up in a huge drs train, wouldn’t be a bad idea to have different distances for tracks though. Although it’s being revamped completely next season anyway

Thing is Verstappen set the agenda for that race by going off like an absolute nutter at the start, he was always going to be super aggressive AND getting away with careering all over the grass, as they said sadly Lewis wasn't helped by Leclerc moving across, but what a GREAT 1st 15 laps.

TBF Norris had a Verstappen type weekend, utterly dominant, and after a few races at the end of the summer where he had bad luck or drove badly, Lando got some luck with the VSC.

Glad it meant Max couldn't pass Leclerc, he big time got away with the stunt on lap 1 IF Hamilton was fined 10 secs

Of course he's a great driver but he's also a moaner & a baby, which takes a lot of the shine off, allied to which (old news) he should only be a 3 times champion AND there should be an 8 times champion on the grid

They’re not really comparable though, max went off with little to nowhere to go, cuts the corner but doesn’t gain a significant advantage still remains in 4th. Lewis locks up goes off track, cuts the corner doesn’t use the run off and gains a significant advantage. The key part is the last bit, which is the reason given for the penalty. I think bearman being in the mix and jumping max at that stage might have ruined it slightly for Lewis too, could’ve potentially been a case where they ceded position back as the stewards were fairly lenient today.

You can argue all day long about the ins and outs of the penalties but to actually put the initial contact on Lewis in causing a collision is ridiculous.

Everything else that happened was a result of this misinterpretation of a so called legitimate pass.  "Overtook"?  lol  Seriously.

The FIA still doesn't learn from 2021.
