Thomas has at least had good games for us, albeit not often enough and has had some contributions going forward. Not saying it’s anywhere near enough but Kristiansen has done literally nothing whilst being as poor defensively when he has on the odd occasion, made himself available to play. And he cost something like £17mill! McGivern we were at a different level as a club and expectations but yeah also poor. Probably the worst 3 either way. Oh for a Fuchs or Berner type now….even Powell. Those kind of characters. Thomas for me is catastrophic. He basically gives a goal away every game, VK is shit but not that shit 3

I still can't work out how to rank Rodgers, McGivern and Thomas. Shite, shiter and shitest, but in which order??

He couldn’t trap a bag of cement, no qualities at all in a Leicester shirt, and a bad attitude to boot!
filbertway Posted 13 May Posted 13 May As far as I can tell, he can still technically sign for another club before he turns 17. I imagine we'd be lucky to get 1-2 million in that case. For our sake, hopefully he at least reaches 17 and is registered as a pro with us before any move.

He's 17 on July 10th - I imagine the club will hold off on any sale before that date. At that point he turns professional - part of the contract he already signed last summer.

Until then though, Monga is still free to leave the club and join another club. We would either need to agree compensation or it goes to tribunal. But that process won't slow things down. If Man U are happy to go to tribunal and Monga wants to go there, then they just need to submit the paperwork of their intent to register him as a Man U academy player and have that processed. Which I assume wouldn't take long.

Game of opinions, Thomas for me is the worst left back I’ve ever seen in the top two divisions of English football. I’d have VK play if I had to choose between the two. 1

Yes it’s a game of opinions, but on his crossing ability alone he’s a better player and there’s been many poorer players playing left back over the 60 years I’ve watched City in all 2 divisions, even this season how many under 21 caps have the rest of this division have? Even between them! Yes he can be bettered but come on. 1

Two things on this, 1) even if that were true he would have to have notified the club of his intention to leave by June and 2) that is on the basis that the agreement he signs a pro deal on 10th July 2026 (announced last summer) is not legally binding.

The contract is legally binding hence why the agreements are made in advance, gurantee’s the club a transfer fee rather than tribunal.

GrobyLCFC31 Posted 17 May Posted 17 May Seems an odd one this with Arteta’s obsession with having hard working wingers to support their full backs and defend deep. Not to mention, Dowman, Nwaneri, Saka, Trossard, Martinelli, Eze and Jesus all having the ability/previous of playing wide- I can’t really see how he gets immediate opportunities Hopefully it’s a good fee with a sell on or some achievable add ons 🤞🏻

Popular Post Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 May Popular Post Posted 17 May He quite clearly wouldn't be moving to Arsenal on the promise of immediate first team opportunities; but if they have even the most basic of roadmaps for his future they're one up on us. They're a really, really well run club. 5
frany104 Posted 17 May Posted 17 May Massively over rated. Dowman is 10x times the player he is. Won’t get a sniff at Arsenal.

Won’t get a sniff at Arsenal. Overrated in what sense? Because he isn't changing games at a club in the bin at the age of 16, getting piecemeal minutes here and there? With Luke Thomas behind him? He seemingly has the biggest clubs in Europe chasing him, are they all wrong? His potential is clearly huge - only our fans could see massive clubs circling round an academy prospect and not be bothered at the thought of them going or think it's a loss.
