13 / 5 = 2.6 x 2 = 5.2

13 - 5.2 = 7.8 and there is your magic number and why we are an absolute nightmare at selling flops.

Also you can play the countdown music when reading this and called me Rachel Riley.

Still think a loan with a fee is most likely.

Our biggest issue is the amount of flops, you can have a big loss on one or two, but we have Okoli, Souttar, Kristiansen, Skipp who we brought for a combined 60m +

I think they want to back transfer money in to save them putting any money in or to make us look a better prospect for a buyer.

We know they’re not getting it back and even the @Ric Flair remaining book value just isn’t going to happen. It’s the same repeated approach that just won’t work at this end of the window.

We know, I'm not sure they do.

Think they are all gone by the close of the window one way or another, maybe on loan.

"Centre-back joined in Premier League and will want to do everything possible to get back into Italy team."... guess he didn't just consider just playing well as an option.

I am no accountant and my question is, can you deduct the future salary that would have paid and is therefore saved from this 'Book Valuation'?

It’s always in one direction (we can’t lose money) because we never manage to make enough to cover the losses.
grim as per usual

it’s like they can’t sell for tless than the amortised value - we’ve had players walk out for nothing because of this approach. They just don’t get it

Crux of the problem with many players we need to sell.

we give wage deals that are too high and then can’t sell below cost cos we also have to cover the wage difference

it’s dreadful management all round

You’ve just got to hope that the penny has finally dropped and they learn from these mistakes that have set us back years

Thanks - oh dear.   Dufkin has well and truly cattle trucked our Club.   So presumably we have to hold out for higher fees to subsidize the difference between the lower wages normal Clubs pay for dross.

Especially as this year we aren't governed by that in our financial limits. But the cash flow issue still remains in what we owe Atalanta but genuinely don't see what the point of keeping him here is. We have to pay that anyway and we at least save his wages.

Why are we run by such ****s.

If there's anyone at the club that couldn't name a single defender that improves us then they should be sacked on the spot. Why are we turning down bids?

£8m for him would be frankly magical but we should accept the loan/option to buy. Get him off the wage bill and out of the club because he is clearly not at the required standard.

Get out there and spend the £500k-£1m on a player that improves us (the list is endless) and stop pissing about. We've got a week or so left of the window yet we're going to spend it rejecting bids for the worst players we've got.

I did everything possible to get into the England team when I were a lad but I wasn't good enough either.

Take up a hobby Caleb. You'll be happier for it, trust me.

This is the standard loan and pretend we might buy that all Italian clubs do. It’s simply not a real offer and we need to ignore it

And herein lies our persistent problems where there is no joined up strategy.

We buy players for a specific manager, often as a direct request from the manager or maybe even agent recommendation due to links we have. Okoli being under the same agency as Cooper for example.

The manager quickly goes but we are lumbered with the player who quickly becomes unsuited to the next managers style but we also have no common sense approach for cutting our losses to try and ensure the next manager has the necessary tools to do what they need in terms of squad profile.

It's rinse and repeat as these players have to run their contracts down and we've continued to make the same mistakes over and over.

We must be one of the only clubs to get points deductions for breaking financial rules that refuses to make a loss on players book value. Defies science how we have managed to do what we've done. Like getting a speeding ticket with cruise control set to the speed limit and still getting the fcuker wrong.

Cullen is likely to be this year's Okoli, Martin will invariably move on within a few months and the next man will piss themselves laughing when they try and find a use for him.
